Don't use eth network, the fees are too high. Instead use tron network and accept usdt. The fees will be very low (you will need to have trx in your wallet to cover the fees, though).
I also have some eth lying around in my wallet, but it is pretty much unusable for the same reason.
p.s. if you do need to accept usdc, register on binance and provide your binance usdc address to the person paying you. That way, you don't need to pay any fees.

Keep it until gas fees go down. Sometimes they are $2-$3, you need to check a few times per day. When they do that, transfer to an exchange so you can get to better networks or coins.
