Google ranks my frontpage instead of the optimized subpage

Hi Guys,

I have been optimizing some subpages for special keywords for a few months. A subpage is optimized for the keyword "buy product" and already has some backlinks and is super onpage-optimized.

I've been tracking this keyword for weeks and it seems like G isn't sure what to rank for the keyword. A few times a day I see my main page (domain.com) rank for the keyword "buy product" and so does my buy-product subpage. That seems to change multiple times a day. If one ranks, the other doesn't rank, but the position is always the same.

Have you had similar experiences with it and do you have an idea why?

Many thanks for your help

Yes because google know exactly that you want to rank this page , so he ignore it and rank the useless one :)
To make you suffer

i have a useless website with 0 backlinks 0 seo optimization bad design, guss what he is ranking TOP 1 on my country for a very hard keyword XD

Thats crazy :-D

So I'm not sure what to do right now, maybe it will take some time until G is recognizing my subpage as relevant? Or maybe over optimization is a problem?

The subpage is new, but the main site is online since 2018, maybe thats also a factor.

Happens when the man can not decide what page to rank, add a "buy product" link on your frontpage to your subpage and tell the man what page to rank, also link "buy product" on other pages where it fit to that subpage, anything to show the man what page should rank for "buy product", internal linking are very useful for letting Google know what page he should rank.

Thanks. I have already linked to the subpage from the frontpage, but not with the main keyword "buy product" but only with "product" to vary the anchors. Maybe I should change that and use "buy product"?
