Niche Blind.. Not sure where to begin

I hope you had a great week.

In the past 2 weeks, I have been looking for some good expired domains, and I have also found some that I really like.
But my issue is, it seems like every single niche is just full of competitors..
(No shit.. That's how it works..)

But it just seems impossible to find a niche, without the SERPs of different keywords being full of high authority competitors.

Are there any niches that don't have an insane amount of competition?

Also, would you recommend going with a .com/net/org site targeting the whole world, or localizing towards my own country?
I'm Danish, so the competition is somewhat lower, but the potential for users on the site is limited down to a population of about 5 million or so internet users.

Danish competition is lower as you say. Find a niche which you like that seems decent according to your analytic skills and work from there. Dont overthink it just go, youll learn and adapt along the way. Thats the advice id have given myself when i started anyhow.

Yeah, it might be best to go for the danish market.

My issue is...
The things that I have knowledge about is:

Gardening, I have planted myself and I grow vegetables and other edible stuff.
Cryptocurrency, it is a highly saturated niche, and the Danish market is very small.
Gaming, there are a surprisingly large amount of gaming related sites in Denmark.
General Tech, phones, computers and online stuff. Again, its a filled market.

I am somewhat at a loss on where to go.
Am I overthinking or?

I don`t know your track record, but if your new to the game, start with an easy Danish niche site and learn from that to later go International with your learning experience. Success feeds hunger, lot easier to succeed International later after one niche learning success.

What are you waiting for?

Let´s say you start a service website (I don´t know if you have a particular skill you can monetize from but let´s assume you do) and let´s assume you charge $XXX for a monthly subscription for X, Y, or Z service.

So, even if you manage to sustain a 0.001% conversion rate targeting let´s say 500,000 people out of those 5 million...that´s 5 leads!!

The same goes if you want to launch an affiliate site or run PPC to promote highly targeted CPA offers.

I haven´t run a SERP analysis to check the competition on those markets but this is something you can do yourself.

Remember, just because you see a lot of sites it doesn´t mean the competition is tough. Perhaps those sites are poorly optimized and you have far more experience and authority than the authors from those sites.

Also, you might offer a different, better, more appealing, and fresh approach and perspective than those sites already taking on the SERPs in your country for those markets.

Alternatively, if you feel passionate about any of those markets and genuine can offer much better insights to the potential audience than the competition, all you need to do is put in the work and offer a different perspective.

My last advice to you is, to invest as much time as you can into researching content promotion strategies. Stuff like social media marketing and linkbuilding through sources like Reddit, Quora, and HARO are often undervalued and it can be a powerful source of organic traffic to your site.

I really appreciate it and you inspired me to get started.
I found a niche, its not too competitive and I should have a good chance.

Final thing before I get started...
I found a perfect domain, as its something I can build into a business.

Issue is, its deactivated because DK Hostmaster (managing company of all .dk domains) have some issues in regards to deleting domains.
So the domain expired back in December, but because of the error it has not been released yet.

I signed up as new next registrant, so as long as the previous owner, who did not use the domain and let the domain expire.. Doesnt renew before they fix their error.. Then ill get the domain.
But.. Its going to be as much as a 2 months wait for that domain to release.

No matter what, I will need this domain and use it.
But would it be a good idea to launch the site with another domain to start off, and then switch domains.. Or just start writing a ton of content, and then publish it all once the bug is fixed and I can get the domain?

It's easy to dominate a small market like DK.

The reason I say this is because you have millions of articles at your disposal from English websites.

Even if you just translate them, you will gain authority much much faster.

Start in the tech niche, put some news articles first and see how it goes. You'll be surprised.

Imagine having a blog about laptops with 1,000 articles on it, and then you start pushing affiliates through it.

it really depend upon whatt is ur website about if it is about course r teaching then cooking is nice if ur selling a product then bicycle niche is good

I don´t know the backlink profile metrics for this domain but unless it has some strong and relevant links pointing to it I would just get a .com domain with a name I can brand and just get started.

Well, it is not so much the domain backlinks.. But rather the name itself.
But metrics are: DA10, PA16, CF9, TF13.

The name is perfect, as it allows me to compete with a very big dog-oriented organization in Denmark.
But without infringing on their name or domain.

And its easy to remember.. The name is kinda like "breeders club" and it's just perfect for the potential growth.
I plan to mainly focus on this single site and not create any other niche sites.

Branding it´s an important element of successfully growing an online business. I mean, you can still have success with pretty much any domain name you choose but, having a branded domain can make a whole difference.
