It's not cheating, really. They're selling media. These accounts probably have no idea what they're publishing about.

I think John McAfee's minimum was 100k to promote an ICO or something like that. Except he did a whole package, not just a tweet.

There's good money in crypto media. Those folks 24x7 on Twitter don't work for free.

So ultimately they make it grow up to a point. We also don't know what they're doing in the background. There are people who trust these accounts on Twitter. They manipulate these people and make more money. So it doesn't feel right to me. So buy this cryptocurrency. They are deceiving people just because they are so good and so beautiful. They are also investing in it. Then after collecting enough people, they all take their money and run away. Of course, the followers do not know about it, until the decline begins. Actually, that's what I'm talking about.

Yea. But this is a double edge sword IMO. He also promoted projects which he probably knew weren't all that great, since he had great tech knowledge. All things considered, I think McAfee was good for crypto and I miss his crazy tweets.

I stopped believing that marketing "manipulates" people long ago. I think people want stuff and marketing just drives their desire in a certain direction. Nobody buys crypto just because an influencer posted about it IMO, they had this wish before they saw the influencer post. I think the AI algorithms in social media are the real culprits tbh.

Great question. I think several accounts listed there look fake. Also, although I don't post on social media, I do read social media while doing my job and TBH I haven't seen most of those accounts ever.

Pretty sure many already are doing this. Just that LL's price got leaked. There are plenty of celebrities doing crypto in recent times. A famous footballer (American football) comes to mind

Why tho? You could argue many people got rich off several ICO's too. It's a high risk investment, you can either buy a lambo or go bust, so it isn't necessarily a scam. Many projects were notorious scams tho, that is true. But others made immense wealth.

It is all about money. They will promote even tobacco or other harmful products, this is just crypto.
