I've been on here for a while. I always tell myself I'll open a journey thread when I start getting consistent results, well... it hasn't happened.
Encouraged by Blooop's response here. I decided it makes sense to document my journey regardless if I succeed or fail, and I'm hoping this thread will get me more accountable and take action consistently.

The ultimate goal of this journey is to get to $3000/ month consistently and then continue to scale (I figured that's a good number for me to start building a team).

Assets
  • One website with a complimentary Youtube channel doing $200-$300/ month
  • 4 expired domains ( 2 with solid metrics)
My other assets are my skills in SEO, Youtube, and web development which I sometimes use in getting freelance gigs.

My immediate focus is to add some supporting content to the live site, then bring those expired domains on board.

I will be posting weekly and monthly updates.
Stay tuned!

Great masterplan
Expired domains yield faster results in terms of SEO
Good luck with this one!

I think you have pretty good start with expired domains, some earnings, and SEO skills. I'd be following your journey but I have a few questions:
  1. Can you share how much you spent on the domains? And did you buy them from some seller here at BHW?
  2. You mentioned you have a YouTube channel so all of your current income is from YouTube and the journey is kind of from scratch?
  3. Are you going to write content your self or hire writers for that? And if hiring then what is your monthly budget?
  4. Are you going to work on all 4 domains? then how you plan on splitting your time and are you monetising with affiliate or ads?
Thanks!

I am also interested in these questions.
Good luck with journey!

Be careful with expired domains, I'd only use the 2 with good metrics unless you're sure all are niche relevant and clean. I'll be watching your journey, Good Luck!

1. $12 a pop. I bought them via auction (it took about a month though, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack and I lost some good ones as well). I think some sellers doctor their metrics with their internal PBN network might not be a bad thing, just what I perceived checking them out.
2. The YouTube channel is in the website's name. I made videos for some of the content and got them ranked within YT. The current income is from both.
3. This is my main struggle right now. I plan to write some at the beginning, but I'm rarely in the right mind frame to write. I don't have the budget to outsource just yet. I wrote some already, but I'm not sure I can keep it up as it's such a chore. My plan here is to do whatever it takes to keep moving forward.
4. Right now, I'm only working on the site that's bringing in money (adding supporting articles). I'll be picking the domains one at a time. I'm currently monetizing with Clickbank and Amazon. I have plans to add ads at some point.

One week into the thread, and it's clear I need to hire a writer asap. I'm kind of low on budget at the moment, but I plan to spend all that comes on content. I'm looking at $20-40/ 1000 words for good quality. Writing at the quantity and quality needed for the niche(health) is such a chore for me.

The site made $60 since I started the thread.
While I wait to have enough to spend on content, I'm looking into Reddit and Quora to see if I can get something going via those channels. I've seen some good methods on here already. I'll add my activities on that to my updates going forward.

Hi, following your journey :-) so I have couple of questions -
1. the 2 expired domains.. you have setup relevant blog site? or have already 301 to your main money site?
2. are the users watching the video and then coming over to your money site?

I am very interested in what happened, why there is no sequel. It started well, but for some reason it stopped. I would also be interested if the project died because of some problem, we can learn from that.
