The scientific method is proven correct based on its results. Once can claim to be the world's best marketer but it's what on the bank account that matters. And science has been 100% on the money. Super easy to understand, no need for any fancy education.
If tomorrow there existed some magic that defies scientific understanding and gets better results, we'd drop science and move to magic in a jiffy. Until then, science it is.

And if you study acupuncture just for a few hours you will be blown away by the precision of the data about the so-called energy body, meridians, and hundreds of thousands of energy centers that ancient have about the energetic system of the body. Our science doesn't even recognize thetype of energy that they are talking about in mind-blowing precision. Acupuncture is at least 5k years old.
Again, it's about results. Anything that works if good. But when it comes to comparison, do people dare relinquish modern medicine and never step on a hospital again? No? I wonder why. Do you think it is because they are dumb and misguided? Or is it that perhaps that there's no better alternative to it?
When we talk about the star, you didn't understand anything. I will take the blame, English is not my native language, so it could be my fault. Your argument that Egyptians and Mesoptaims kept written records doesn't apply here. In this case, they needed to keep the record for at least 100k years to successfully solve the problem. That is the bare minimum. It is not a guy who is watching the stars and he decided to write its positions. Cmon, try it. How would you write the position of the star? how can you notice it moved? How on earth would you notice that star moved if it needs 72 years to travel just1% of the circle? how would you notice that the pattern in with it moves is a circle if the whole circle lasts 24920 years?
It is actually really easy. But first, some math:
1% of a circle is 3.6 degrees.
1% every 72 years, means 0.05 degrees per year.
Now, let's imagine an ancient temple - remember that astrology/astronomy was the field of the priest class back then.
That temple has an open space at its top for observing the starry sky. Let's suppose the opening is a square with a side of about 10 meters. That's not too much, the outer circle of Stonehenge is 10 times bigger. And Stonehenge is located at "the backwaters" of the ancient civilizations, so my little imaginary temple is practically nothing for the scale of Egypt. Also, let's set the temple's dome at 17 meters high.
Ok, so, we have a fixed point at the temple floor from which we watch the sky. And we have a pole there and at 2 meters we place a glass surface. We stand below and look at the sky through the glass. Glass was invented 5500 years ago, so no problem there.
1. As we stand below the glass at a fixed spot, we place markings on the glass when our line of sight meets the dome edges. So we know where the "sky" is enclosed. 2. Then we select a nice big star. To be able to have its location, we need to take 3 linear measurements for 3 different points. So we use a ruler and measure the distances from 3 edges of the dome (we marked them on the glass before). We note the triad down.
3. We repeat the process for all the stars we care about.
4. We can now trivially draw the exact position of the stars in a papyrus, by reversing the process (i.e. draw lines based on the triplets we recorded).
Well, that takes care of taking a snapshot of the starry sky. But what about noticing the movement? Easy.
We're coming back the following year to take another snapshot of the sky. Time for some more math:
Remember that our distance from the dome is 17-2=15 meters.
So what we see from the dome is a "window" on a virtual sphere with radius of 15 meters. Now since for our purposes we don't need any 2D calculations, let's take a circle of that sphere (like slicing a lemon).
The circumference of the corresponding circle is 2πr -> 2*3.14*15m = 94.2m
The sky rotated 0.05 of a degree. That means that there's a triangle from out fixed position to the old Polaris position and the current Polaris position.
To find the distance from the old Polaris position to the new Polaris position, it's trigonometry.
I'll save you the calculations, in our setup it moved a little bit more of a centimeter.
That means, that the stars that were very close to the edge of the dome last year, are not visible this year. One centimeter may seem low, but if your job is to note the positions of the stars and you have archives, it's trivial to notice sooner or later that something's moving. No need to wait for 72 or ...24920 years.
Go out, take a paper and pen, oh sorry you will not have paper and pen a few thousand years ago, take a stone and a bone and try to scientifically describe the position of the stars, then come back to talk.
No need, the papyrus about 5000 years ago. And if we take its construction process in mind, there was probably a precursor to it, so we've been out of the bone business for quite a bit now.
