Random DM's for Discord Servers?

Is anyone else seeing an uptick in random DM's from low karma people asking if you want to join some Discord server?

Anyone doing it?

I'm assuming that it's just to fish for people for a group, but I don't get why their using Discord? Why not create a new Subreddit?

Anyone know the strat?

Guessing you are apart of crypto and NFT groups? I had to disable messages from non friends as I was getting around 10 a day. People must be clicking on them as they keep coming

That's crazy! Did you ever check out what is going on in the Discord? I assume just hype, but not sure why Discord versus building a private subreddit.

One of the things we're into is cannabis, so the messages are the full spectrum drug messages.

You would think someone is trying to recreate Silk Road with all the crazy DMs

They dont build subredits, because reddit would ban them aswell as the accounts.
With this method only the accounts getting banned, but the users stay on discord and can be monetized in any way.

Lot of redditers moving to discord since if you sneeze to loud reddit can and will ban you
