Hey Everyone,

I am new to SEO and currently on a learning curve trying to grasp as much info I could get on the topic via resources on the internet. As of now I have gone through Moz's Beginners Guide to SEO and Ahref's Beginners Guide to get basic idea about the major topics.

I've read many articles on the forum where people emphasize on the practical application of things and that is very true. What would be the best way for me to learn while experimenting and learning from my mistakes along the way? Should I start a blog/website and start writing articles and do what I learn?

Would love to hear from the amazing and helpful people here. I just want to do this because learning a new topic could be overwhelming sometimes and I want to make sure I'm on the right path

Cheers!

Start and stop right here!

That's the best way. Pick something that you know you can write about. Do the research of the top 20 results on google for the niche and various keywords associated with it.
You can use https://ahrefs.com/free-seo-tools to help. Once you decided on the niche, just build the site, and COMPLETE IT. That's the skill and habit you have to build. Of following through and completing things. Once you've got a finished site (20-30 articles), then you have something to work with. On-page and off-page SEO. And that's where you can happily test away to your heart's content on finding what works best for your website.

Your best bet to really understand SEO is practice & learning over time via experimentation.

I've got a few basic guides just to give you a hint:

BlackHat SEO guide:

On-Page SEO Guide:

Take the links given by @Panther28 above & mine as well in moderation. You don't wanna overload yourself with information.

Good luck!

absolutely the best way of learning SEO is to build your blog. Apply to this what you learn. The best method is learning SEO absolutely practice.

The more well written, relevant, unique web page content you have, the more the visitors to your site will think of you as an expert in your field. The search engines look at the unique content in somewhat of the same way, and they will give a good ranking to the page because they feel it’s valuable to what the person who searched for the information is actually looking for.

This plus on-page (e.g. html tags) is really all you need, before backlinks.

like others have said, start your work now. self-learning has its limit. You won't know what to look for and audit until you start your journey.

Once you do that, then take a look at this https://wolfofblogstreet.com/seo-guides/

that is a single page that points to all the BHW how to posts written by @splishsplash. good user to follow as well.

The best way to learn is by doing. That's how all of us made careers out of it.
If you have a passion for building websites, strategy, finding opportunities, that sort of thing, you'll enjoy SEO.

Pick a subject you're familiar with, and find a subset within that niche that you can build your first site on. You'll learn everything you need as you reach each stage, so you won't get overwhelmed. Just understand that you can't rush it. SEO is not just a matter of knowledge, but practical skills and experience.
Keep applying yourself and you will get there.

brother first get done with site , then I would get you some help and knowledge !

Start with a niche or topic that you have interest in. You can generate good amount of content on such topics.

Hi LordBjorns!

It's great that you're in this line of work as it can be challenging but fun.

The best way to learn is to practice practice practice. Whatever you read, put it into practice by taking up personal projects such as designing your own website, and doing the On-page and Off-page SEO.

Before you consider building backlinks or anything of the sort, make sure your website is absolutely on point in terms of On-Page SEO, quality content, and user experience.

Always remember that SEO is a long-term game, so you can't rush it but the rewards will be well worth it. Pick a topic you're familiar with, and niche down slowly as go along. Remember to produce high-quality content for your website because slowly you'll be seen as an emerging expert in your niche by your visitors and Search Engines as well.

Keep applying what you'll learn, and be consistent. You'll start seeing results if done the right way!
