First thing I noticed as well. That alone makes it inferior to other research tools IMO, but better than nothing

It's an amazing-looking interface but it's anybody's guess what those search volume estimates mean.
there are no ranges, there are no comparative indications, just based on your sample it's obvious that the phrase "Ukraine" would probably get a lot more searches than the longtail keyword.
The longtail here is "Russia vs Ukraine war update."
Just like with typical SEO if you're looking to deliver the kind of content your audience is looking for focusing more on longtails.
It's all about delivering the right experience to the right people to build credibility.
