Should I delete my personal account and create a new one?

Hi everyone!

Straight to the point, my engagement is trash.

I've got 1k followers, most of them are real and active, but I'm getting 90-120 views on my story and 40-50 likes on photos.

It used to be way higher.

Should I just stop using that one, and create a new personal account and try to grow it from the start?

4-5% engagement is pretty good and is better than average. Most big accounts have an engagement rate of 1-3%.
Your engagement rate will further drop as you grow. Don't dump your account unless it's completely dead. This is how it is with social networks now. Can't expect high organic reach and engagement.

Its not bad. I’ve kinda noticed engagement going down generally on instagram. Same experience with my accounts. You could start another account by the side though and run them simultaneously. If you have the time and the patience.

This isn't like a theme page or a big brand account, it's just my own personal account where I post stories, pictures of me etc.

If 4-5% is still okay considering this I'll just try to grow it as it is.

if you can retain 4-5% at 10k ide go with the others and keep it.

People do not like every single picture of their real friends on social media for variety of reasons: tired of pictures of their pet or whatever topic, bad timing, picture not being such a wow thing in terms of content or quality.

Try to engage with your followers, since they are people you know it should be easy to dm them have a small conversation, ask them what they think about your last picture, be subtle ask them about anything related to it.

Stick to the same account, and try to be original. Try posting creative things, and you'll grow. If you can't handle all this hassle, might be a good idea to hire a Social Media Manager for yourself.

For a personal account, that engagement rate is normal. Don't ditch the account. It's probably aged and with a good trust score. Build on your current followers. As long as engagement rate does not drop below 1-2%, you're good.

It is a pretty low engagement rate. But you shouldnt give up from that account. You can try to make it better. Maybe you can start changing your content or the time of the post sharing.
