Hello there,

Clickbait title to get more people reading the post :).

I'm an online entrepreneur since the past 6 years and had a fair amount of failures and successes. Tried many things. I've mostly had success in the ecommerce space, but also ventured successfully in other spaces such as SaaS and agencies.

I've been reading this forum on and off since the last 4 years because I like the creativity and out-of-the box thinking here.

Most other marketing and online business communities are highly conformist. Whereas here, you can find anything from the most ignorant newbie to borderline geniuses that have unique and incredible insights. The downside is that I see many smart people having a bad mindset. That means chasing low revenue and short-term stuff when they don't even realize they have the knowledge to build big, high value and long-term things.

So I have several goals by becoming an actor, and not just a spectator here:
- Network with interesting people, and find win-win deals.
- Find good service providers.
- Share some value.

My next big project this year will be to launch a Youtube channel, so I'm sure I will be learning a lot here.

Is this a journey? Or will you tell me how you won?

I won't give too many specific information about what I did, but I will share some principles that I've learned to get success in future posts (part of the value sharing goal I have, as this forum almost only talks about the "what" and "how", but not many posts on the "why").

Hello Arborescence, nice to meet you. I hope you can achieve your goal here.
Nice to meet you too, cheers man.

What kind of agencies did you run if I may ask?

Welcome to the club of the big guys!

Wonderful introduction.

Welcome to the the forum.
Thank you man.

Several stuff related to ecommerce (I did not run some of them but just a shareholder), including influencer marketing. I've never been interested to create or invest into a typical SMMA agency.

Welcome to the forum. @Arborescence You are in the right place to learn. Good luck.
Cheers, good luck to you.

Welcome to the club of the big guys!
Haha, cheers crystal.

Welcome! You seem to dabble a bit in every field, hope you learn something new from this forum.

Hello, thank you for sharing your introduction! Definitely a nice title to capture attention :)

I strongly agree with you, mindset is everything!

Wishing you all the best on your endeavors

Welcome...!!! You'll learn a lot here. You're right. People here think out of the box. I agree to almost all of your arguments and statements. However, there is just one thing I would like to point out. You mentioned that people here have a bad mindset and that they are chasing low revenue and short term stuff etc.

Could you please tell me if everyone became the sellers, who would buy? If everyone becomes a doctor, who'll be the patient? I'm not here to disagree or have an heated argument or something. I'm just asking this from 7-figure online entrepreneur. Let's see what's your take on this.

Thanking you in advance, and best of luck for your YouTube channel.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Your questions are actually interesting and relevant. However, just to add some clarity before replying, I wasn't saying that everybody is like that on this forum. What I meant is that I see people with the potential to get a lot of success limiting themselves because of mindset, low value and short-term stuff.

Also, I agree with you that an ecosystem needs a lot of different types of actors. If every actor in the ecosystem became a prey or a predator, it would loose its balance and eventually collapse. Diversity is important (and even though I believe that a growth mindset is excellent, determinism plays a big part in what you can achieve or become). So as you can see, I'm not an idealist but a pragmatist.

That being said, stagnation is the start of decay. Growth is the driver of any system, from an individual to the economy. In order to survive, any system needs to keep climbing the value ladder. We all started with lower value stuff and it's normal as we are building ourselves and discovering what all of this is about, no moral judgement here (even someone as Elon Musk started with small useless stuff), but we need to continue pushing further. After getting results, a lot of people just stay at this stage (stagnation) and keep doing the same thing without evolving.

This growth and stagnation stuff is why 1st-world countries stopped producing cheap goods and outsourced it to emerging economies while focusing on the tertiary sector, because knowledge and information economies value innovation the most (very low supply and scarcity as it is a lot harder to innovate than to produce cheap goods, and basically endless demand). Most emerging economies that can't do this transition become trapped into what is called the "middle-income trap".

Similarly, I see a lot of people in business that are trapped in this kind of "middle-income" stuff because of short-term mindset and lack of personal development.

So that's why I want to share things around mindset and value. Most people who use these words are just parrots that don't convey any deeper meaning but just use them shallowly for virtue signaling without really understanding what they're talking about. On the other hand, I completely understand what this means and why it's so important, and that's why some of the biggest value I can bring is to share about it.

Anyways, these are very high level and complex stuff that I'm trying to explain here in a simple and summarized way. I know that a lot of people won't get it, even though I also believe quite a few people will as this is an anticonformist and creative community.

You're welcome, and thanks again for your kind words.

Thank you for your response. I am really glad. So, basically, "Survival of the fittest," is still relevant, right?

I planned to give you shit for that annoying clickbait, but Leonard Bernstein is my favorite conductor so you get a 'Welcome' instead.

Ah, OK!
Just tough I am the only one with 7 figures at 1.000001

Would love to find me as interesting thing to share some value with me :)

In a way yes. But what's unique about human nature compared to other animals is that we figured how to do it in a way that's not necessarily predatory. Indeed, our economy nowadays isn't a zero-sum game. You can build something that truly benefits others while becoming more powerful thanks to it. Value creation is the surest and most secure way to get success in the long term, and the more you can do it, the more you can be rewarded.
