I have a financial business website. Scammers are running google ads against my website keywords. Every time i report their website, they popup again with different version of my site.

Other than out bidding them on Google ads, is there any other way to block them from showing up on my brand search terms.

If your tips are helpful, you will be rewarded.

Joke, hope it helps in any way...

Trademark your brand name and send your documents to Google. This will prevent anyone from using your name in Ads.
Thats where the issue is. These guys use variations of domain names. like lets say the brand name is blackhatworld, they will use blockhatworld or blackhatwarld.

In that case, I'd play by the same rules and flood the page with your ads too, until it won't make sense for them to keep running it. It's a stamina test.

The funny thing is those guys who run those ads are hired from blackhatworld.

They are breaking the law. "Passing off" is illegal, and if you sue them you could win.

The first thing I would do is trademark your business name.

Then I would report the websites to Google as passing off on your trademarked name.

Google will have to take action. If they don't, that means the ad ecosystem is even more rotten than we realise.

If you believe you are right and have enough documents to prove it. Let's fight to their finance wallet, like suing them to their payment gateway they are using. If they can't receive money anymore, they can't run ads again.

That's not about the ad ecosystem being rotten, it's just managed by algos and every algo has its weak points.

As explained by OP, what they are doing is using your website name / business name / trademark name as their campaign's keywords and that part is very much allowed as per Google Ads. I am myself running Google Ads campaigns (selling Youtube views) and I have "youtube" in my campaign's keywords, as it is allowed to do so (and I do not even need to cloak the campaign : it is pure whitehat).

However, usage of trademarks, etc in the ad headlines, ad descriptions is not allowed as per Google Ads (keeping blackhat strategies apart).

Next : From their advertised website, they are scamming people (which is bad, something illegal and not allowed). But, they are able to do that using cloaking (safe page, money page).
To be honest, nothing can be done about it, apart from what OP mentioned : out-bidding them. Even if one complains to Google Ads about it, the perpetrators of the same are always having a farm of accounts on an ongoing basis and Google Ads themselves have been unable to stop it from happening so far. Google has realized even by totally disallowing a niche or disallowing some keywords to be advertised in Google Ads, still perpetrators are able to run their ads in Google Ads, through alternative allowed keywords along with cloaking.

Humans make the algorithms though... and Google has 100,000 software engineers.

There's so much click fraud wasting advertisers' budgets, and on top of that if we add the possibility that they refuse to take down ads which are breaking the law... then what can I say except that's a rotten ecosystem.

This whole forum revolves around tricking algorithmns. Algos are flawd by definition.
To some degree, even buying links is a way to trick the ranking algo.

I guess my point is Google should be doing a better job.

And the madness here is Google are the best of the bunch... by far!

In fact, I think that microsoft are doing a much better job in terms of enforcing their policy on advertisers.

I.e. Quickest way to do it so to make it unprofitable for them to continue running ads by upping your investment into Google Ads.

they promoting their biz or doing affiliate offers
