Stop words in domain name

So I bought a lot of domain names with the word "in" in the middle, and I know that "in" is a stop word, and that google ignores it, but does it ignore the domain entirely?

If I have the domain name "plumbers-in-italy.com" will it not rank well? I know it's not as good as "plumbers-italy.com" but does it hurt it a lot?

Any thoughts or experience on this would be great. Thanks guys

No, they won't ignore the domain. I don't think it will affect page rank either. I believe some search engines don't record common words simply to save space or to speed up searches.

I know those stop words are supposed to be ignored, but for the handful of domains i have used them in i cant rank with them very well without a lot of backlinking, ymmv

Stopwords are used in text only, by search engines.
They are used to save space and bandwidth, as happy hatter already stated.
They don't do this with domain for one simple reason, if you were to remove words from the domain it wouldn't anymore. lol.

But i would say, with some creative thinking there is always a good domain name to be found.

search engines tend to interpret hyphens as spaces or simply as not being there, don't woory too much about the hyphens...
