Hey guys, need some advice. As you know Instagram has the ability to label your account as SPAM and your messages will be hidden from people unless they check their hidden requests folder, I think it doesn't apply to people who actually follow you or have approved your messages, but it does towards people you are trying to contact who "don't" follow you.

The nature of my business though is contacting people who don't follow me and trying to get them to follow me of course, but it seems Instagram now has labelled my account as SPAM and my messages are being sent to people's hidden requests folder which is a huge bummer for me because let's be real, not many people check their hidden requests folder lol.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, is there a way to get your account back to normal again so my messages will be send to people's "normal requests" again.

It's also good that people should know about this so I would advise you to read what I have said and take heed guys, because Instagram is doing this to people's account, it's kind of like being shadow banned or being on a SPAM shit list.

Any advice? Thanks!

You should have broke the limits and spamming random accounts. Try to follow, and like the people you DM.

How many people you need to DM/day? What's your follow back ratio?

But I do follow the accounts that I am trying to contact man, I always follow them first before I do my post. They are not random accounts, they are accounts that I am trying to get in touch with and promote.

Well I wouldn't say many of the accounts that I am trying to contact are following me back man, but that's because I am having a hard time reaching out to them because my messages are always being sent to their hidden requests folder.

I returned to do my promotion and things were going so great and then on the 3rd day, things began to start changing and I wasn't hearing back from any of the accounts I was trying to promote, I even tried to limit my posts to posting once every hour and trying not to look spammy to IG's eyes, but it seems that didn't work.

Just not sure what to do, it would be nice if there was a way to contact them to let them know that I am not trying to SPAM people and I am trying to run a business...

If you are trying to contact users with public profile, you can comment saying you sent them a message, just be discreet so nobody knows what you are doing

You can also create another account and start feom the beggining.

Does your messages contain any link?

instagram always sends those messages to message requests no matter how old the account is, they can only go directly to the chat if both accounts follow each other

Maybe your IP or device could be blacklisted. Try to switch over one account and test it out slowly.

I tried that man, but it looks like they ain't receiving my comments either, I'm guessing my comments are just being sent to the "Today" section like they have read the comment already and not showing as "New" so that they don't see it, it's another crafty way Instagram blocks you from reaching out to people...

Yeah man, but there is also a folder called Hidden Requests, it's a new thing Instagram has set up so people who are spamming messages get sent to people's hidden requests folder so people most likely will not see it.

This is probably likely the case here man I would say as I seem to be still having this problem, can't say for sure, all I can do is keep testing and I will try both of my accounts and try to do things more slowly and less spammy.

I could also try using a VPN while using Instagram to see if that helps, but I am guessing it won't since they seem to be smarter than that I would say, but I guess there's no harm in trying at this stage lol

A good strategy is to ask them to check dm on one of their old photos

I will have a try at this man, may I ask though why you think this would help? Has it worked out for you in the past, I don't see it being any different than me commenting on one of their new pictures and it seems they ain't receiving my comments either...

Follo then drop a comment. Trust me it works. Compared to DM

Make interactions with the accounts before you DM them. That's always a good thing to try before getting too technical. Until you determine what exactly causes your messages getting filtered out like that, then you can keep moving to another set of steps you could take, addressing the possible issue on that level.
Also yeah, accounts created/ logged-in from blacklisted IPs tend to be banned.
