95% of their WordPress themes are truly a deception. They may look nice, but they will break, and not function as they should. The developers then try to take as much money as they can through the extension of their support. The only thing I find useful from there is licensing the audio and adobe after effect files.

worst thing is that once you use one of their themes, you are locked in. you can no longer switch to another theme outside of their ecosystem.

I don´t have the experience you have with them as a customer but I´ve worked on dozens and dozens of websites this far this year especially when it comes to speed/performance optimization and most of the themes are coming from there and they just suck!

At least, for speed/performance.

Yeaa I hold an Envato Elements sub, useful for graphics, fonts, video templates, brushes, etc, but their web templates definitely need some work. I used to do the individual themes, but it became too costly so I switched to an annual subscription. Worth it for the stock photos and videos alone lol

Let me rephrase my previous statement. New purchased themes from themeforest are great in the beginning. But if you try to redownload them again a year later, good luck if you think they will work. When this happens, your only option is to pay for the extended support which is sometimes as much as the theme, or close to it. This has happen to me now with mutiple really popular options such as https://themeforest.net/item/boombox-viral-buzz-wordpress-theme/16596434?_ga=2.5291697.36189402.1647761793-533678318.1646797809 and https://codecanyon.net/item/youzify-formerly-youzer-buddypress-community-wordpress-user-profile-plugin/19716647 no longer work for me after buying them both a year ago. I refuse to pay for the extended support.
