Hey,

Is there anyone in this forum who has opened a Quick Service Restaurant. I am thinking of opening but kinda a afraid of not able to manage the process and daily activity and i think it can led to a failure.

It will be very genuine if anyone drop his/her views there about opening and what kind of hassles faces while doing that.

Thank you

I am a owner of a patisserie (locally here known as a bakery). But, we do not have a store front, we are not yet even a registered business. We have acquired regular (repeat) customers through our Facebook page and Facebook ad campaigns. However, I am not involved in the daily operations of the business (I have 3 employees & I have good audit procedures in place).. If you are going to start a food or restaurant business, I suggest let it be something that almost all people eat almost everyday (such as bread, buns, cakes). And find a way to manage the business in a way that you do not have to spend a lot of time in or with the business, so that you have lot of time for other hustles. I started it 2 months ago and so far it has been going well.

Quick Service Restaurant meaning fast food like burgers and stuff?

Btw I'm actually brainstorming on opening an international cuisine delivery in the nearest big town, but I don't know how people would react. (my country is full of people stuck in their comfort zone and national meals)

That said, I do believe if you have passion for cooking or hospitality you can make it work. Healthy ingredients, good recipes, nice marketing and you should be good to go.

Passion for cooking is indeed very important. Either you should have or the hired cooks should have. It is hard to find such people. One of the challenges it is.

Yea and if you do find the right people you have to trust them to put out the quality you want so, it's not easy.

I suggest, start small & not with a huge investment. Regrading getting the right main person as a cook or chef, etc, what I did was visit a few good hotel management & catering colleges / institutes and identify newbies who are just completing the courses and specialize in what you require, in my case it was baking (bakery) & then personally test their skills and quality of their output (the food). You'll be surprised at how many newbies are actually quite good, even excellent in their crafts. Offer that suitable person a % in profits apart from a salary. % in profits does not mean you make that person a legal partner. It is just a % of profits apart from salary. Many newbies have great drive and determination, some are dynamic and would even quickly learn how to manage the business, apart from preparing outstanding food. That way you spend very less time in managing the business and can spend time in other hustles.

Yes bro, from delhi where most of the people are foodie
You're from Uttarakhand, bring local garhwali or Kumaoni food for Delhi folks. You don't even have to open a restaurant. Just follow the concept of cloud kitchen and tie up with Swiggy and Zomato. If its a success, then invest in opening up a restaurant.
I don't know what are you doing in Delhi's noise and pollution. Just move back to Uttarakhand, plenty of opportunities in tourism space.

Not restaurant but a tea shop has opened.
Take care of these things.
Location is most important.
You must have security/protection. (Other business owners may harass)
Need trusted workers.
Quality matters.(take feedbacks from customers and change accordingly)
Hygiene.

Hope you find something useful.
