Guest Post on a site with declining rankings?

As title mentions, I'm going through some different options for guest posting and I notice a trend (perhaps due to a google update?) that a lot of these sites have downward spiraling rankings.

Based on the above, is it still worth it to buy a guest post on a website like this?
And what could be the cause of the downward trend? Has it been hit with any penalties?

Declining in traffic can be for many different reasons. Not necessary that it has been penalised by Google

That is not a penalized site so you can post on it. But it looks like the site and the content is very low quality (according to google) so google gradually removing keywords. You can avoid it if you have better options.

If it's going up and down then it's fine but if it is completely going down then do your research before publishing your article.

Depends on what is the reason behind the decline. You can always do your research on how to manage it.

I'd suggest not to bother about it.
Just buy backlinks from high DA sites that you know are trustworthy, reliable and won't neglect their DAs
(Eg, online magazines or news papers).

Remember that the value backlinks have grows exponentially as a function of their DA.
a DA90 is worth thousands of DA80s, a DA80 is worth thousands of DA70s, and so on.

Just invest $2000 in getting 1-2 good DA80-DA70s.

Then $1000 in 3-5 DA50s (to make your backlink profile look more natural). Make sure 1-2 of these pages also link to the other DA80-DA70 pages where u also posted backlinks


Then get some shitty web 2.0 backlinks, both no-follow and do-follow (again, just to make sure your backlink profile looks natural).

And that's it. You should be good to go

If a $2000-DA70 is worth hundreds of thousands of DA20s (let's say 100.000), that means you should get 100k DA20s to get the same domain authority that you would get from a single DA70 alone.

In the long-term, focusing on low-DA sites is going to be more expensive (as well as time-consuming) than just going for the big DAs

I understand the sentiment but the general consensus across this forum tends to be that DA is not a trustable factor and that it is usually inflated on garbage sites since its just a third party metric that can be manipulated.
