The mixing method makes it extremely hard to trace, but not impossible. I think the only method to be 100% untraceable is to swap BTC for Monero (or another anonymous coin) or just use Monero itself.

Mixing if done multiple times will make it untraceable. Common users like us will not be aware of this.
