How are lyric video channels monetizing?

There are so many of these channels blowing up these days. They all look the same with a picture of a sunset with lyrics of pop songs over the top of them. Many are clearly heavily botted with views and comments.

How are these channels making money? YouTube usually demonetizes these kind of channels for reused content and it's almost all content-ID'd anyway.

People are definitely making these channels on a commercial scale, not for fun.

At first, they can do it to get their first audience. Then, when the channel becomes average, small music artists start buying custom videos of their songs from such channels. Further on, they sell commentary space, such as a link to some site. The description of the video is also sold.

That's not what many of these channels are doing. They're only uploading very popular songs from very popular artists.

I think they make money from music labels/ artist manager paying them to make lyric videos of their artist songs. The channel you posted has their contact email in every video description, every lyric channel does in order to get business inquiries. What makes me sure they get paid to promote artists is these channels don't ever promote products or services in the video, nor do they have affiliate links in the description. There's no reason for a lyric channel to have a contact email besides business.

They upload popular songs to grow the channel fast to attract people looking to promote songs.
