So,
I like to help the BHW community by sharing experiences. It also allows me to write, sharpen my journalism craft. It came across my mind, I never shared something on building on-line reputation for dummies. This is for the newbs of course, though there may be some gems along the way for even the experienced.
So in keeping it short, there should be a few points to cover on front page of search when building a business. These should be your objective to rank immediately.
1 - You / Your brand Website
2 - Your social media
3 - Your videos / YouTube (facebook & video)
4 - Your News
5 - Your original images
1---
First, in Short, you build your website and create a wealth of content that's needed around the subject of your brand/business.
2---
Second, you register all your social media brands and link to those official profiles from the website & vice versa. Be sure that you have the 'username' of your business and try to keep all your social media page usernames uniform (the same). With Facebook, buy a few fake page likes from the proper country if needed, to get your username immediately. It never hurt me to do this but don't buy more than like 25/50 (whatever their minimum is today).
3--
Now that you have your basic social media pages, get your YouTube channel set up. Be sure to get that same username on YouTube as the other profiles.
If you don't have original content, get creative. Hire people on Fiverr to generate interesting visuals, actual pro/semi-pro video edits, or video-graphics that will make your business POP in search. If people see a great video, many will immediately stop searching for additional reviews and comments, and trust just that video visual.
Get some real comments on the videos that support your brand/product. Get a few real likes. Buy a few views if needed, to make it look legit.
Now, just send a ton of back-links (don't need to be high quality) to get this video ranked in search and show up on front page.
You will need Google/Bing/Apple news articles in addition to this to complete things, so read #4 for sure
4--
No real business/brand has made anything great without the support of major media. People believe / have faith in the news. Think that's a lie? Check out the nonsense of a pandemic and division of beliefs spread today! This was all fueled by the news, whichever belief is had, by more than 85% of the world.
Get your brand in the news. Include a back-link to your website and maybe 1 social media profile. At the end of the article, include a video.
If constructed properly, with good keyword intent, your article will generate views from real people and those people will view the video. These viewers will help increase viewership time and keep your video on top of Google search. Completing your 'online reputation' in check.
If you're hiring trash writers, you won't get these results. period.
5--
What else shows up on Google search besides videos and URLs? Also images. Be sure to get as many unique images for you/your brand/your product distributed across the web as possible.
Google search can actually detect duplicate/similar images, so make sure you know what you're doing or just get 1 of 1 images.
Distribute these images frequently and sporadically across all the legit sources you have (site/social media/guest posts/news/etc)
Now to recap. What I'm saying is this:
Google is not just a 'site search' in today's age.
Google is a site, news, image, product, and video search. If you want your reputation managed the right way, you need to cover as much ground as possible. Get your site & media atop all forms of search possible.
Hope this helps some people.
Who knows what i'll type of next!
