Bitcoin surpasses Russian ruble

Pricing of anything is as usual dependent on demand vs supply and demand / supply again is dependent on various other factors and prices in certain products or commodities, etc can also be manipulated by creating an artificial demand or even an artificial supply. Sometimes prices can be manipulated by whales. But, in reference to OP's given scenario, it is perhaps due to demand vs supply being impacted by an economical aspect which is impacted by another aspect related to current affairs. Ofcourse no one decides price of Bitcoin anytime, but it is still dependent on demand / supply which is dependent mostly on market sentiments which is often dependent on current affairs, based on which more people want to buy or more people want to sell (demand / supply), thereby making Bitcoin price go up, down, etc. In relation to other assets or commodities, Bitcoin price is more volatile in nature due to it's decentralized aspect.

Bitcoin has no real value because humanity can live without it...It only has the value that people think it has...
Not to mention that we don't know who is really behind it...
On the other hand, every coin that is backed up by a real Country has far more possibilities to survive in the long run...
So, in conclusion, if you think that your money is safe with Bitcoin, I think that you are deadly wrong!

Even after seeing the growth it has given over the years, you are doubtful?

Hell yeah! At some point in the future, it will vanish into thin air...It's not like tomatoes, let's say, that you can eat them...Or like Gold, that everyone accepts it even in wartime.
Bitcoin should be used as a payment processor or for short-term gaining profit purposes only!

With that logic, tomatoes should be more costly than Bitcoin.
@krishnaverma I agree with you on this. Many people do not know that there is a final limit to the quantity of Bitcoin that can be created, unlike tomatoes and potatoes. The more scarce something gets and at the same time more acceptability, surely it's price would then shine : that time has not yet come for Bitcoin, but in another 10 years it will come. Those who do not buy Bitcoin even now at whatever price it is, will regret in the long run (I repeat LONG run).
