Has anyone had experience with using Facebook adverts for local businesses?
Are there any tips and techniques to lower the costs?
I have seen people say invest time in promoting in groups but local groups might be more tricky so thinking of trying Facebook adverts instead.

If you know exactly which users are you aiming, you can cut costs pretty much with narrow targeting and audience.

Dont target too deep bro, just target about the age, and job about the people who u want them seeing your post

the only way is to create multiple ad sets and find the effective one then increase budget traffic

It works definetely, the budget will depend on you but if you are just starting I will recommend you to start with a low amount and increase it little by little every week. Also depending on your type of page some ads will work better that others for example if this is a service you can try the leads generator campaings, if this is for products you sell you better use the carrousel, my preferred one engagement campaings + get more message campaing.
