What do you use with Perfmatters?

Looking to have a fast loading and all smooth. So surge with Perfmatters or anything else as per your experience?

Also what optimal settings for Perfmatters? A bit confusing...

Surge is a good & very light plugin. I use it for some of my projects, in combo with Perfmatters, and I get A scores. For other projects, I use LiteSpeed Cache + QUIC.cloud CDN (free&easy to configure) + Perfmatters (on a LiteSpeed Web Server).

It depends how big is the website, site structure, visitors number, and more. For a regular website, Surge + Perfa are very good.

Yes, you should optimize the images, manually or using a plugin (I recommend manually).

How many pages and posts do you have right now? How many pictures per post/page? If there are just a few pages/post published and you want optimize the images, I recommend to do it manually. If you just start the website, even better. Optimize images when you add new post or page. Why? The less plugins installed, the faster the website.

How to do it:
1. For image resize, I use GIMP - The image resize is used when you download large-size pictures (from pexels, for example), and you need to scale from 5000x5000 to 1250x1250.
2. For image optimization, go to G and search: convert jpg/png/jpeg to webp. Convert the image to webp and keep the image quality at 90% (usually is more than enough).

This one is new. Currently at 45 articles and 2 pics per post. And manual is too time consuming. That's why was looking a plugin.

You will optimize all the images within one day (a few hours, in fact). I know time is important for anyone, but this is how I would do in your case.
