First of all, love the software!

I can't seem to format the trackbacks properly it says that I need to check my comments and make sure it is formatted properly. What I have right now is in your-blogs.txt the URL then under that the title that I want to use.

Then in the trackback-excerps.txt I have my already made excepts as well as some spinning done, then I have Titles for the excepts under that, yet I still get an error.

Another question I have is would this be wise to use comment posting for different things like squidoo lenses/HUBs if I have accounts that I care about? Is there a possibility that they will get disabled? I won't be using this carelessly but still would like to get some links to these as well as my sites.

Thanks in advanced for the help, I can't seem to find the answer in the user guide or anything like that.

When you mention the user guide, do you mean the one that someone compiled and posted here on BHW? There's a lot of good info in there, but it's primarily composed of the author's observations and some info from some of these threads (no offence meant to the poster of that guide, I appreciate the time they took to compile it).

Or do you mean the actual scrapebox usage guide? It has an entry on trackback submitting. If you haven't read that, check it out:

http://www.scrapebox.com/using-trackbacks

Especially good tip near the end of it.

As far as spinning comments, ScrapeBox validates things like that there are an appropriate number of matching brackets around spun syntax, can you post a screenshot of the error you're getting? I'd like to see if it's that error or something else.

As far as web 2.0 properties and accounts using ScrapeBox on those you "care about", I'd personally recommend getting at least fairly familiar with and comfortable with how to use ScrapeBox. Maybe even set up an account on each site (squidoo, facebook, ezinearticles, etc.) and test things out on those first. I've used SB a bit on those type of sites, but I always like to use "disposable" accounts first to see what the results look like.

The error I get exactly is "There seems to be something wrong with your list!" It doesn't happen all the time but if I keep spinning it does :P

Thanks for the tip on the Web 2.0 I just didn't wanna throw away those account just in case someone reported me to them... cause I make a good chunk of my income off of those and wanna raise their ranks further!

I got the spinning syntax right, I mean it WORKS when it doesn't tell me the above error... I think I just am missing something in my files like I aint setting it up right or something

In Your-Blogs.txt, I think you have the syntax backwards. It should be:

"Anchor Text"
"URL"

without the quotes. Looks like you have it as:
"URL"
"Anchor Text"

Also check your excerpts file, the screenshot for it makes me think the same thing; it should be:

Title
This is my Excerpt

and the screenshot look like:

This is my Excerpt
Title

peace,
gregs.

God, I hope I'm not being stupid but I keep reading that official guide where you listed it and it isn't helping me much at all :P

If anyone has successfully posted trackbacks please assist me in setting these up properly because I want to use the software properly but the guide isn't very in depth from what I have seen so far.

EDIT:

Shoot, ok... lemme try this, I can't believe I didn't think to try it backwards rofl. Ill give you an update in a second

I still got an error when I have more than one of anything.

Such as 3 sites, with 3 anchor texts each setup like

Anchor 1
Anchor 2
Anchor 3
URL
Anchor 1
Anchor 2
Anchor 3
URL
Anchor 1
Anchor 2
Anchor 3
URL

Same with the excerps, is it only allowed to do ONE excerp and one site at a time. From what I understood in the guides that are on the main site you can have as many as you want and it will choose them at random :P

Thanks again for your help so far gregstereo, I got it to remove the error at least when I got online 1 on each :D

That's good, we're making progress, and you're welcome.

Try making the anchor text spun as a single entry, like this:

{Anchor 1|Anchor 2|Anchor 3}
URL X

{Anchor 4|Anchor 5|Anchor 6}
URL Y

Damn, didnt work... its exporting the anchor text WITH the spinning syntax rofl.

Then I tried, out of curiosity adding the multiple URLs like I really want to do and THAT is when I am getting the errors, so when I remove it then I have no problems... but still blasting out 1,000 trackbacks with same anchor text sounds kinda spammy and I am afraid of a penalty for that for sure =/ I wanna get the 1k links but spread out and a little anchor text variation hah.

Edit: I wish I could give you rep... but alas all I can do is thank for now :P

I'll try to take a further look at it once SB is done running a couple things.

As far as speed of the blasts, you can throttle it by turning down the # of threads and connections.

I also have a personal opinion that trackbacks aren't as scrutinized by Big G and others as blog comments are, but that's just my opinion.

Ah, you may be right... never really focused on Trackbacks before (I don't know if I have even got one before) So I wouldn't know it just seemed like a REAL easy way to get a lot of backlinks really quick and seemed like they would be accepted more than comments.

I have been trying to think of ways to mass comment with a high success rate, can you share any type of comments that you may have used or still use? I mean we all know the old hey thanks for this post doesn't work... But I was thinking about like "I noticed your site is a little off in the formatting when viewing in {Mozzila|Chrome|Internet Explorer} might wanna look into your template files and get it verified." or something like that. You seem to have been using SB for a little while at least so which ones stick the most from your experience?

Have you loaded the default files that come with the download, if so do they work?

Here is Excerpts:

Posted to the Blog it comes out like this where the red arrows are pointing:
trackback-excerpts.png

Now the other one is Your-Blogs, and this contains your all important link and anchor text which makes up your backlink like this:

So this one naturally has a link to your site with your chosen anchor like so:
trackbacks.png

i think a good idea for comments to be accepted is to make them long

HI Mates,

Just bought ScrapeBox, It Looks Fine, Would any body suggest me how to use. need you suggestions about usage before i use it:p

Hi Dangazzm,

You've probably already figured this out since it's been 3 months since you opened this post. However, I'd like to leave the solution here for those who stumble upon this thread looking for the answer like I did.

The proper format for Your-Blogs.txt is as follows:

Code:
My Blog Title
http://www.mysiteu.com/2009/10/test-post.html

Another Blog Title
http://www.mysite.com/2009/10/another-test-post.html
The proper format for TrackBack-Excerpts.txt is as follows:

Code:
Title
This is my Excerpt

Another Title
I saw this really {great|good} post today.
The trick, however, is to build your list outside of the program, save it, and then load it using the 'open' buttons. Using the edit function (button with the 'E' on it) will cause the improper format error.

I assume this is done to prevent the other functions in the comment poster module from breaking. For instance if after posting trackbacks you immediately selected check links, the program would fail because the website list would include titles which the link checker can't use.

Anyway, that's the trick, just build your Title/Website and Title/Excerpt files outside of the program and load instead of trying to use the built in editor. As far as I know this limitation only pertains to the trackback poster.

Happy Scrapeboxing,
Iconik
