But I don't have any interesting content per se. Basically the site has one function? In which trades can such a site be placed?

I'd create some if I were you. Content attracts users, and users buy stuff.
If you don't want to make or buy content, try to think where would a user bump into a problem where your service is the solution to. What do your users get from using your service?

There are a bunch of ways you could promote your site, but the quickest and easiest one is to make some paid as on social media or Google and target audience that would be interested in your offer. Besides, you can promote it on forums, use some link banners, engage with posts of others on various digital platforms and mention your site as well, be active on social media groups, post regularly, use popular hashtags, and so on.

If it's niche/content blog, I believe the best way is SEO, focus on creating awesome content that can be shared. Jon Dykstra from Fat Stacks Blog has a couse bundle that teach all this, the same way Brian Dean did with backlinko (he sold it to semrush recently), just amazing content that can be shared.

Social media promotion. Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest. Also, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Reddit ads.

The marketplace and the advertising tab are both very good in terms of ROI. You will generate very good business with a legit product/service.

There are many ways you can promote your site. You might want to take the paid Ads or free way, depending on what works best for you and how much time and money is available in that direction!
