Yes but DA and DR is pretty much the same. Both fake metrics developed by SEO Companies. Neither one is used by Google. And while we are at it DR seems to be more accurate, Ahrefs filters a lot of exploit links.

Domain Authority is not a metric made up by SEO companies. Google called it Page Rank. It’s the same thing.

Several years ago, Google publicly displayed the PageRank of the site. This metric was marked as a numerical indication of the value of a site. A numerical value that represented the page value. Each web page and root domain has a value from 0 - 100.

In 2014, Google announced that they would not be publicly displaying it.

If you know how to use this metric, you can calculate pretty accurately the time it will take to rank a page. (If you know what your doing…) It also tells me what I need to do to rank a site vs the top results and the probability of ranking.

For me, I use Moz.

It’s not “made up”. It’s math and logic. Not magic or rocket science. They use a logarithmic scale. You can’t just “make that up”. And the calculations are pretty close to Google’s. It doesn’t have to be exact. It serves as a benchmark from where you are and where you need to be vs competitors ranking pages. And hey, we can agree to disagree but not knowing how to use this metric to your advantage is like trying to find a toothpick in a haystack to me.

Just a bunch of guessing.. and testing…
