Local SEO Help for a New Medical Billing Client

I will be getting a new local Medical Billing client in a month. They do not what to be a BIG box business and really want to cater to the small practices including therapists and counselors. The website and GMB don't get any clients and they were set up really bad.

My plan for month #1 is to update their logo, website content, photos and on-page SEO. Their website really needs about 1000 words on the home page with about 500 words on all others. For month #2 I will update their Google My Business and begin off-page SEO for both the GMB and website. I am planning on doing a plethora of backlinks and local citations

I was wondering what tips the BHW community has for me to help them grow. Their budget is not very large and I am taking somewhat of a pay cut. Also, are there any cost-effective services anywhere I should purchase to help me give an edge?

It looks like a good plan. But why don't start with off-page SEO starting from the first month?
SE needs a time to get them indexed and take into account for ranking.

Depending upon their target keywords, you can publish couple blogs on their website (Tips - what, why, where, how, when, top 10, guidelines etc etc) and SEO of these blogs to rank fast in local area.

keyword research is very important in local SEO. Try to target low competition keywords for that, optimize GMB, Do on page of all pages, and create some citations If you are gonna build links.

Yes, I plan on doing some citations even tho the client cannot afford it. With a limited budget, I do not have a lot of wiggle room. I try to give good service and go above and beyond with all work I do for clients.
