You can't use gif as avatar here?

So I tried uploading a moving motion gif here, it did worked and intact initially was working well too during the setup, but it seems like it doesn't works afterwards, instead of being in motion, it only shows one frame like a still image, am I doing something wrong?
It was <1MB, and about 400*400.
