Someone please explain to me Discord - NFT Communities

I joined a Discord server that's related to a certain NFT project.

When checking the server out, there are 10 different 'Voice Channels'.

Please, someone, explain to me what's happening.

Why do people that don't know each other hang out on these servers?
Is there any benefit to it?
Do these people have nothing to do?
Are they crazy extraverts that HAVE to talk to people 24/7?

Can't tell you since I have no Idea what NFT server you are talking to
However, with my own personal experiences, just like BHW is full of Internet Marketers, NFT servers tend to be full of "NFT Traders" where NFT trading is their "Full Time Job".
They all hang out to talk about upcoming projects, cool features/utilities, PFT projects, current crypto states, their past experiences, trash shitty rugged projects or to shill the next "BAYC"
So, you looking down at them or even just judging them as "no lives" is pretty damn disrespectful and is no different then any one of them coming in here saying BHW ppl have nothing to do

If you are smart, you hang around smart people.

If you are stupid or dumb as fuck, you hang around people who are stupid or dumb as fuck, like NFT discord servers.

What's going on?

Most of these discord servers are filled with bots I think. They just do this so the discord server seems real. And most of the projects want to rip you off for money and that's how they're gaining.
