Is this medium.com posts can't rank in 1st page now?

I remember in 2019 - 2020 there are so many medium articles ranked in SERP. But now finding a medium.com article for a keyword in SERP is quit hard. Why is that?

Have been noticing this, despite my article doing well on their platform, it is not getting indexed on Google

Thank you for confirming. I thought I'm the only person who experience this.

Then it's time to find some other good platform.

Quora ranks pretty decently :)

And there are some nice tuts here for free.

probably with the sheer volume of posts they're crawl budget is eaten up before finding your actual post

once indexed they have high authority they usually rank.

although i had low competition posts i made on a reddit profile that should be top rank and were not. very strange.

It happened after they added "noindex" tag to many accounts (posts).
For example, I used to have a few articles on medium ranking on page 2-3... then they added "noindex" to my account so all my articles had "noindex" tag.
Also, many used to kill it on medium and then got the same so people stopped using medium as a parasite.

I've seen them indexed, and in the top 100, but not often in the top 10.
I'm sure someone with an active blog would have their property ranking higher.
Then again, when you really look at how Google operates in the real world, I think it's reasonable to say that the algorithm is pretty dumb.

Yesterday, I decided to look at my personal name, since I hadn't looked at it in a while, and was curious what might be showing-up, there.
It was disappointing to see that my marketing website doesn't even rank on the first page, but then there were other entities that were kind-of like... why? (LoL)

I don't even use my LinkedIn page, AT-ALL, but it's literally the first thing ranking for my name.
Google clearly shows a heavy amount of favor to certain types of properties and websites in various circumstances.
If I'm more active in one place, than another, I'd like to think that Google should be able to see that, but it's clearly not the case.

For my business LLC, the BBB actually ranks above my website. (LoL... seriously, not cool)
And there's not even anything there... they just show unrealistic favor to that property, and that's the case with a lot of big brand fiefdoms.
Actually, looking at my brand, my sub-domain on medium is ranking on the first page, and the SERPS, there, make a lot more sense. (hah!)

It probably has something to do with links and social activity between terms.
(Not that I'm even active on Medium... hah)

Yeah i think the nofollow tag made many people leave the site
