Can I register foreign domains?

I live in the USA.
Can I register foreign domains, such as:

• .com.au
• .co.uk

I found some good expired ones, but can I use them?

Well i once registered .com.uk domain from a different country. So i believe it’s still possible.

They'll ask for documents that prove you are resident of that country.

I never heard of any issue of that kind or there are any location restrictions for owning those TLDs.

Also you may ask if Godaddy can provide additional service on foreign language domain registration, though I don't recommend Godaddy at all!

.co.uk has no restrictions
.com.au u technically dont have to be a resident, but must have a registered business number/company number in australia. also you cannot register them for others to be used(as of july 2021)
