If you buy a used iPhone just aim to get one with 90%+ battery life. Once it’s below 80% then it’s usually close to time to replacing them.

After around 4-5 years of use they start to lag and the battery requires charging twice a day.

I prefer used phones over new ones... their value degrades anyway and you can get good deals if you know what you are looking for.

if its the store then they should be telling you the truth regarding the state of the device, ofc i suppose it depends on the country

Buy it if it works and its not a scam , as you said you need it for specific work.
Also people buy used Mac as you need a Mac to build a apple store app, you can't do it on pc.
Nothing wrong buying a used one of either.

I will not recommend used phones because of a poor experience I had after purchasing a used phone. After three days, the display was faulty. Maybe it's just bad luck for me.
