How to Download and upload Wordpress site?

wordpress.com offers hosting that you have to pay for, if you're doing the hosting yourself you can just install the product for free using their instructions https://wordpress.org/support/article/how-to-install-wordpress/

I am trying this with XAMPP, it is damn impossible. I keep getting errors, even though I am following all of the steps exactly as I should.

it's probably not the best environment to host it in, you want a debian linux box really with virtualmin sat on top to make management easy

You want the easiest way? Git. Go figure ;)

I think your issue is that you’re looking at Wordpress.com and not Wordpress.Org

the latter is free and for designing websites

if you have a cpanel with your hosting then install Wordpress for free there

000webhosting - With ads
wordpress themes official
wordpress plugins official
dot.tk - for domains

All are free and free.

Good luck :)

I don't want to pay for wordpress to access plugins.

I'm already paying for hosting.

I already said I know how to do this. I want the HTML from the actual site that I designed. It is not a site yet, it is just a design. How do I download the design??

Thanks, but the thing is it is not a site yet. I have not purchased wordpress, so my design is merely a design in my account.
I have a separate site with hosting that I paid for, but I do not want to pay to connect it to wordpress.

I am trying to copy the content from the design I made on wordpress, and put it on my current website.
I do not want to pay for wordpress.
The plugin that I tell you is FREE in the download section

I think op created website with wordpress.com and wants to create a html site on his hosting.
1) wordpress.com is not wordpress.org, its a web 2.0. So first let's get that out of the way.
Don't host your website there, it's expansive and crap.
2) here's a doc suggestion how to export from wordpress.com , check if a plugin can export or follow the doc.

Thank you guys, I now know the difference and am using Wordpress.org in combination with XAMPP, trying to figure out some errors now with downlaoding it. Says Critical site error.

your files are probably corrupted, if it’s a fresh install just try deleting everything and importing it again.

If you are using wordpress.org meaning you use your own webhost for you site then you have tons of themes you can download and make some changes to your liking.

You are making it way too hard for yourself. From your post and replies I don't think you are good at wordpress modifications.
You can use elementor or other wordpress visual builder or just use themes.

There's a guy called Tyler Moore on youtube who has vids on how to make a wordpress website for beginners. Watch his vids.

If you are changing to new hosting, the hosting provider may help on this.

I think he might have mixed up Wordpress self hosted and Wordpress online subscription? Has hosting but has to pay to activate plug-ins is the web2.0 version
