is the original email enough when you buy an ig account to secure it ? I bought the account and the seller is about to sell me the og email but i tried to recover his account back and he has the option to recover the account with the phone number why is that?

it's most likely because the user has both email and phone number used on their account. they'd have to remove the number to allow recovery with email.

i changed the number and email but he can still recover his account not with one email but with 2 and a phone number why is that ?

when my account got hacked i didnt have the phone number option. the number was from the person who hacked me bc he changed it from instagram and i did the same thing now but this guy still has the phone number in.

my final question is can he get the account back just with the number or the other email (not og email)

That's weird. never seen account with two emails as recovery. If your account got hacked, have you gone through Instagram support? did you get any emails when the hacker changed the email/password? there must be a recover link in there somewhere.

I am guessing the person from whom you got the account is using it on the mobile Instagram app with multiple accounts so the account is probably linked with other emails and numbers for other accounts.

you will probably have to add an 2FA authenticator app and try the recovery with the og email yourself. Also try to login to the instagram mobile app to see if the account is linked with other accounts.

Dm me on @catsbeingmemes if u can pls. Its not confusing at all. I changed the email and the number buf when u go to recovery he still has his email and phone number as a recovery option. The thing that i dont understand is why this happens bc when i got hacked i only had the option to recover my account with the og bc the hacker changed the number and the email.

Yeah he can i tried my self with another account. The second number u add on the account is the number that will be on the recovery options and u cant change it even if u add another number..is there anything i can do about it?

1.If he has phone number connected to it, Ask him to remove it and add your own real and physical one.
2.If he has OG Email, Get the OG Email with it's password, Change the Email's Password and secure this email with 2fa using any physical number.
3.After changing everything, Switch on 2fa on your IG Account with your number or email as a backup for it.

After these three steps, Try to press forgot password and see where the code goes, If everything is done properly then your number will show up here.

the first or the second number u add on instagram will be the recovery option and if i add the 3rd number(my number) the number wont change it will still be the second number added
