How does Fiverr Seller levels work?

No idea. I'd like to know as well.
BTW... is it possible to open a cheap $5 gig... sell 20 gigs at that price in order to get reviews,
then afterwards change the price of the gig to like $1000 and still keep the reviews and have people think your reviews were from people that paid $1000.
Just asking... for a friend.

Oops, yeah. My bad. But still, it doesn't make sense. Even if he has 50 sales, then just two reviews .... And this is what shows to the buyers before entering the profile, a level 2 seller with 2 reviews..how is that helping him. This will only effect his sales. I would rather be a 4.8 with 50 review than 5 with 2 reviews.(In case he deleted a gig with bad reviews).

Probably he just can't or don't want to provide those gigs anymore he deleted, it's not necessarily because of bad reviews.

well that doesn't have to mean anything bad
as a buyer it helps you and shows you that the seller already has experience and sold services. not exactly at that gig, but in general
the level 2 does not "only" mean that he has accepted 50 orders. it means much more. look at the screenshot, in my opinion it also provides the buyer with trust
