NFTs and metaverse are the future
The world is boring...if the world wasn't boring, people wouldn't create paradise (a better and more interesting place than Earth), there wouldn't be fantasy, literature and everything that human creativity creates to make the world less boring.

Now with metaverses the world will be in our hands...no more ugly people, buy a skin and that's it. You choose your gender, your appearance, your clothes, you can "physically" live with people from anywhere in the world.

Is this a bit depressing? Does it show degeneration and decadence of society? Exaggerated modernity? Yes, but it is the future reality, what matters is to invest and get rich with it.

We were born too early to enjoy all of this at its peak, but we can enjoy it at its origin to make a fortune.

Nope, the only thing that will happen is that the lazy, stupid and irresponsible people will spend their time in metaverse instead of watching TV or playing video games for 8 hours straight. Especially, the metaverse will be good for those who own nothing else than a computer and a headset. Its an easy escape.

Smart and conscious people won't fall for this trap. They are well aware of that a "metaverse" will never replace real life experience such as smelling, tasting or meeting people in real.

The same goes for smartphones by the way. There won't be any difference between those who are addicted to smartphones right now and those who will be addicted to the metaverse. Same story, different game.

Its like: People were addicted to GTA Vice City on the PS2 and now they are addicted to GTA 5 on the PS4/PC. Different technology, better graphics, more realistic, can meet real life friends there, etc., but exactly same story.

People are in it for the money more than anything... I think its a phase but the underlying techonology has its purpose and its here to stay imo.

TV, video games, and smartphones are commercial successes and historic tech revolutions for humanity.

I don't have exact figures, but certainly if one invested in stocks of companies manufacturing TVs in 1940, one would certainly have a very high ROI

it's 1940 for the metaverse

The metawerse will be hell for anybody working online, immagine working from home for a company and you have to sit 8 hrs in the metawerse so ur employers can see what you do every second. A lot of big companies will be surprised that most people do a 2-3hr work in 2-3 days cuz they don't give a fuck, well that won't be possible anymore.

People who look forwroed for the metawers lifestyle are the ones that have nothing go for them in real life, and companies which want to see what you do, what you buy, how you work. The meatwerse will be filled with scams, praying on the gullible, and of companies who will want people to stay in the metawerse and actually work.

I remember when secondlife was a thing, I had several rigged casinos, and the amount of deluded and sad people I met was depressing, but hey they never valued the ingame currency and allways ended up spending a lot of money in shops and casinos

I don't see any revolutions on metaverse. It looks like a money trap. What's the difference between a video game and a metaverse project?

It won't be too boring for long. There wasn't a big worldwide war for a great while now. One is bound to come. Thanks to climate change a lot of shit will happen in the coming decades, drought, refugee crisis etc. New viruses will emerge. Humanity will be occupied to stay alive IRL. A Mad Max kind of world, a fallout is more likely at this point than Metaverse becoming a widely adapted thing.

Decentralized finance, Cloud computing, Apps, etc.. looks promising but this metaverse, decentralized land, NFTs are just loot imo. Metaverse just getting people into digital addiction.

You won't chose your gender because there won't be no more gender at this point. You will chose between "pratical" and "slutty" or something. It's all about the vibez for Gen Z

The world is boring? Most stupid statement i heard in my 32 years of existence. How can the world be boring? Its the most amazing place and you have a unique chance and experience to live on it and be present. Metaverse is boring will be boring, having virtual friends? virtual car in virtual house, thats fun? I rather travel real world that i like and make memories and experiences. I don’t doubt metaverse is fun for 1h a day ( i bought the quest 2 vr shit just to see how it looks in general and its crap, motion sickness not to mention the glasses are really heavy and its shitty, maybe in 10 years this will be something serious but for now its a big joke ).

Agree, except the virtual friend part. I mean what is this forum for example?

Maybe i wrote that wrong, language barrier maybe? What i meant by that was i dont see the point of bunch of adults sitting in virtual restaurant and hanging out? but yes forum is this a form of virtual “friends” id say its more of a community of same minded people

Especially when there are huge and evil companies like Facebook or Google behind it.

I am cool with VR and will mostly use it for entertaining stuff, if resolution and quality improves. But metaverse? What for? I just don't see a reason to outsource my real life into a virtual life. Thats why I said: Only the low IQ folks will fall for this trap. Those who already lost control over their life...playing mobile games 10 hours per day and spending a shit ton of money for it.

and then of course, the metaverse will attract those people, who believe they could be anything they want. This will also be this type of people who believe there are more than 100 genders. Then you have a 60 year old trucker who appears like a 16 years old japanese girl and traps 18 years old into cybersex. This is where shit will go

And by the way...the only way they can pull off the Metaverse (in my opinion) is by HEAVILY surveil it and to only let people participate in it who have a fully verified account, otherwise the Metaverse will be subject to a lot of crime, assaults and especially sexual stuff (probably a heaven for pedophiles and also virtual rape), etc.

Also, what happens to the people who are addicted to the metaverse and then sooner or later receive a lifetime ban from Facebook? And this shit will happen. Or do you think they will let people join the metaverse again and again? It will probably even stricter than FB handles ad accounts, audience network, etc. and who will judge whether something broke the guidelines? Definitely not real humans. It will be an algorithm. The same algorithm, which is killing ad accounts for random reasons right now.

This are just a few reasons why I think a metaverse won't be successful. Besides this, Facebooks (or now Meta) image is already damaged af.

Nah I gotchu.

I will sound like smart ass here. All that metaverse hype around one single VR world is kinda misleading. We've been living, meeting and making friends in virtual worlds for over a decade now. Be it Social Media, forums or online multiplayer games. They are just "metaverses" with a clunky UX.

Crypto projects and now Zuck are just trying to bank on some narrative someone came up with.

It's just hype at this point imo. Maybe AR will be the real thing?

Make money on the hype and then run and do some real shit.

It's been all there for a long time - social networks and online games

Strongly Disagree. As someone who had a big social circle in my teens & early adult life, including after I started working, I much prefer to stay at home and enjoy doing something that I actually like such as gaming than spending time with people who provide nothing to my life. Hell, even friends, as soon as most people start working most of us keep what? 2? 3? Maybe 5? close friends and that's it. IRL Social interactions are cool, sure, but not only are they generally expensive & they stop being "as fun" if you do it every day. Gaming and the metaverse will be perfect for some diversity and for having fun. Not to mention that I've met some amazing people online too.

But then again, each person is different, what you might find boring can be fun for me, what I may find boring can be fun for you, generalizing things and calling other people who have different hobbies than you do as "Lazy stupid and irresponsible" just screams to me as a lack of understanding.

Yes that's true.

These virtual worlds will display what is beautiful IRL but with time what is bad also.

So I guess at his peak Metaverse will be as boring as real life, for those who think life is boring.

Let's enjoy this very early time and wish everyone try to make it as better as possible.

I just hope these Metaverses won't be only under control of big private companies / centralised protocols.
