Hello everyone, i decided to open a journey about my new website I created today in which I will publish translated articles as many as I can and see if it ranks,

I will do it all manually, I will use DeepL for this website.
Goal: Translate and publish as many posts as i can and try rank on google
Translation: From English to another language
Total cost: 8.5$ for .com domain, i already had purchased hosting for another site.
Keyword Research: none, i will translate the whole article + titles
Reason why i am making this thread is to keep myself focused on this site and get motivation.

All the very best

Good luck!
Will you do this manually or do you plan to automate the process?

Thanks

German
Im not setting a goal for revenue currently, my only goal is to translate as much as i can

I’m doing it manually at this time, in the future we will see
Will you mark sources?

I'm thinking of doing the same, but since I would do manually I wouldn't translate one whole article. Rather combine 3-4 put it through quillbot then deepl then edit. At the end of the articles I would put references in nofollow links. Thinking I can really avoid any copyright issues like this.

I'm thinking to do this in my language, but Norwegian is not a huge language tho, 5mill lives here..

Nope i wont mark the sources, you would he safe with the way you explained but thats an overkill for me unless you are translating from other languages to english.

All the best brother . I think I will also start a project like this.
Are you thinking of specializing in one niche? Or general articles?
One Niche
Have you set goals ? for example, how many pages per day do you want to add?
Nope, goal is to post as much as i can in one year

5 mill are still a lot if you go for a more general niche, since Norway is a 1st world country you would be able to make a lot of money with affiliate and ads.

Yeah, need to find something interesting to niches to blog about, planning to run as autoblog

How are you planning on monetizing your site?

A few questions as I have a side project for it (not German though).
how many articles do you target to post?
aren't you worried about cannibalization?
how's your domain?

PS: since you're using German, do people in Germany use Bing/Yahoo?

No target, i just plan to publish as many articles as i can when i have free time.
Can you explain the cannibalization part?
New .com domain.

I chose German because i already saw a guy in bhw having success in the same niche translating to german.

Are you translating all posts from the same website?

Curious how this will develop. I wish you good luck!

Interesting experiment.
Let's see how it goes.
Best of luck op

Another question I forgot to ask

Will you read and check all the articles you translate? Or will you trust the translator?

I will trust the translator this time since i dont know a single word in German

Good Luck. Good Idea. Let hope for the best. waiting for your update

Can you explain the cannibalization part?
Cannibalization is when multiple articles on your site target the same keyword so google will struggle to pick up the main one. You're using multiple sites so might end up with 2-3 similar article which will compete with each other on your own site.

I dont actually care about this at the moment
I know both languages very well and believe me German is really difficult. When you only translate it will sounds like written from a 7 years old kid.
Lets hope deepl does a good job for me haha
