Hey guys, i have a problem , im oversleeping daily, like 12-13 hours a day and it prevents me from doing better with my online business. Any idea how i could quit this bad habit? Please, don't tell me go to the doctor, i already did and it's not sleep disorder or something, im totally healthy, its just a bad habit that i can't get rid of. Any idea how to quit ? I feel like an alchoholic who can't get rid of drinking alchohol.. I'd appreciate help!

It's totally depends on you. You have to control your brain. Don't let your brain control you.
Yeah i understand that, but the problem is that i don't have a willpower in this case for this issue, idk why..

I know many people sleeping 10 to 12 hours plus 3 hours in bed. These people are that way by nature. They feel their best being so.

IF you understand reason, you will understand you probably have a problem with inflammation in your body. It's mostly because of your diet. It's causing you chronic fatigue. If you don't want to see a doctor again, at the very least consider a 24 hour fast ( only water ) to give your body a chance to clean.

Diet is the trigger to 99% of diseases. Sleep issues being no exception. Now as far as fasting it's not necessary. If thats the route you want to take then, cool. But there are cleanses and adjustments to the diet that work far better. Changing your every day life patterns that lead to poor health is the key.

If it isn't a medical condition or depression (you should look into it), just make a decision and follow it. Every single aspect of self improvement you are trying to achieve is cancelled the second you start cutting yourself some slack. Think about it.

12 - 13 hours of sleep??? Daaaaaaaaaaamn!!

That is waaaay too much...

It's all on you man.

For example, if I have been smoking for 20 years, if I want to quit smoking today, I will quit.

The same goes for alcohol and everything else...

If you want to change something, you will change it, short and clear!

Go to a bed today at 12, set the timer to wake you up at 7 am, don't sleep during the day, do the same for the next 10 days, the body will feel the changes, you will reduce sleep from 12 to 7 hours.

And no, you have not tried hard enough, don't lie to yourself, not me, yourself.

All the best.

That's a long time, I imagine a couple of those hours are spent looking at the ceiling. I think some willpower is needed, but I would try an adjustment to your diet to see if you have any improvements. No need for any crazy changes just eating slightly less, or if unhealthy more healthier/less processed foods. There are plenty of quick recipes so it doesn't have to take a long time. Make sure you have a reason to be awake, if you don't have a job try looking for a part time job to give you something to focus on. You may end up having inspiration for your online marketing journey whilst at work.

Try to use (and listen) an alarm clock! It works for sure! I usually put 2 or 3 alarm cloccks with 5 minutes of difference, just to be sure that, even if I don't hear the first, I will listen to the second or the third.

get an alarm clock and put it way far from your bed. and maybe put a glass of water with it. when you get up to turn off the alarm drink some water. you’ll not want to go bed. but don’t do it with your phone alarm, definitely get an alarm clock. i literally had the same issue, going up to 16 hours (literally) but this fixed it, now I can even go with 3 hours of sleep.

so the problem was fixed when you purchased a real alarm? maybe something in your mindset has changed as well?

i think the whole issue is phone is more portable than the alarm clock if that makes sense. plus if you grab your phone to turn off the alarm you can easily go on social media to scroll, now you wanna sit or lay down to scroll then all that reading can make you sleep. i mean i have to check my phone every day i wake up because of my work so that really happens to me a lot. plus alarm closk is louder in my opinion. also some people might not be able to put their phone too far, like me because of their work.

1. reduce screen time or wear eye protection
2. do not drink caffeine later than 4 pm
3. try to "switch off" and sleep earlier, at around 11-1 am
4. try to wake up between 6-8 am every day, get up, wash your face, drink some water and maybe some caffeine, get your brain busy

it's all a pattern you can try to improve, it's hard to change but you can do it. also don't get vaccinated that shit keeps me up all night just malding at the fact that they can now know where i am and what i wanna buy without my consent, just my $0.02!

Assuming no physical issue as OP said, then I'd recommend these tips to sleep less:
  1. Go to bed an hour earlier than you normally would
  2. Set alarm so you will wake up an hour or 2 before your normal time
  3. When alarm sounds, get up and TELL YOURSELF THAT IF YOU FEEL TIRED YOU CAN TAKE A NAP LATER IN THE DAY
  4. Then don't take a nap! Drink coffee if you get tired in the afternoon.
So yeah, you're basically lying to yourself to get up and out of bed. But it feels less scary with the whole day in front of you if you tell yourself it's OK, I can take a nap later.

After a few days of that routine, set your alarm another 30 mins earlier and repeat gradually until you are sleeping an amount that is shorter but still healthy. If I was you I would aim for 9 hours of sleep at the end of everything. This is because it seems like you might just need more sleep than the average person, so don't cut yourself too short on sleep.

Sleeping 12-13 hours per day is hardly normal or healthy, no matter what your doctor says. But I'll take your word for it.

Knowledge, experimentation and discipline will be your three greatest tools in this challenge.

This is how you teach yourself to sleep less/wake up at a desired time:
1. Decide how many hours your want to sleep per night eventually - let's say 8
2. Start first week "normally" but with a small change - go to sleep and wake up exactly at the same time. +-15 min tops you have to be sleeping.
3. Second week continue on, but lower your rhythm to desired level - let's assume it's those 8 hours.
4. Keep a sleeping and waking diary every day - you are experimenting with biological feature that is somewhat crucial to our sanity - plan it well.
5. When the alarm rings, get out of bed immediately. No excuses, no nothing. Do it in a fast manner, like house is on fire, or you're in military getting woken up by an angry sergeant. If it's not immediate, as soon as you think about it. With time you will learn to pass out at command and wake up in an instant
6. Continue until it becomes natural. If you're healthy and young, you should not feel tired in the mornings.

You'll need to learn how to fall asleep and wake up very fast. These can be very hard skills to learn for some people, while others find it easy.

Random tips:
Reduce your caffeine intake - definitely no caffeine minimum 6 hours before bed.
Drop sugary foods. Actually, check your diet in general.
I recommend to not use drugs or alcohol. Even a single beer affects sleep quality tremendously.
Just also remember that diet and exercise are two important things in improving the quality of sleep.
Investing in new mattress/pillow/duvet is one of the best favors you can do to yourself

There are also professionals trained in this, "sleep doctors" if you will. Just make sure they are actually medical pro, not a random hack. It's expensive, but it's your time, the most precious commodity that you have.

Hope this helps.
