How do you guys structure your content pages?

How do you guys write your new content pages? After you write the content, do you include the People Also Ask questions as FAQ to add onto the pages?

On pages (even best x for y pages), I have tried to add the People Also Ask at the end of the content. I'm wondering due to some weird results lately if that could make the page less targeted for a given topic/keywords. I always thought it would add more around that topic making it more full on a given topic but I'm just wondering lately.

I created a Best X For Y type of article, and my best rank was the first version that had like 3 product choices and a couple of FAQ questions. As I filled out the page more, I fell from page 1 (which was great on an article only hours old) to page 3 and sometimes one of my similar articles showed up instead which is why I wonder about topic focus.

I know the usual is to look at the top results as that realistically should be a guide, and many of those recommend say 8-10 products which lines more up with my later version (though many might have one tangential question as most that is at the end).

I've been looking on here for posts around this and didn't find anything quite on this aspect so thought I'd see what you guys think.

Sometimes, I do add FAQ section (like 3-5 short answers) but they concern the topic in question, not "people also ask". I am not sure if it's helpful but I saw a few sites doing it and I thought it would be helpful for visitors.

FAQ based content ranks really good. I had a site few years ago based only on FAQ and it did well that time.

I guess realistically the guiding principal is what information would be useful to the read at that moment they are doing that search.

To be honest, the additional questions are a great way to interlink to other related articles but you can get a little keyboard canibalization pretty easily.

Funny enough that's what led to this. I was watching some of Matt Diggity's video around silo structures and I restructured my categories and now I'm interlinking articles within each category

I use faq when I run out of outlines(headings) and let the ai run amuck. But I am using it sparingly as it will sooner or later give away the game.
Going back to your question, there are a few bhw guides on how to do siloing. Check them.

Ooh, I see what you guys are saying. It took a few mins to sink in Stick to the topic pretty closely and link to the other articles in the same silo category instead of adding a little more depth to each individual article.

I always tried to add just a little extra tangent info but pushing them instead to other articles has some possible gains:

• Less of an issue of keyword canibalization/competition (which I am having that here and there) since each stays more focused.
• Not as much gain as having whole other articles that are interlinked
• Maybe Google gets less confused on the topic at hand.

So it's like if you had a post on the best snow shovel. Not really a need towards the end to add a couple of paragraphs about how to maintain and clean a snow shovel even when it has a link to another article you have just on snow shovel maintenance. It's better to keep each post tightly focused and interlink to create a big web of content expertise.
