Any data on how the new GMB update affects service businesses without addresses? So I understand the reasoning behind the update, proximity is key for search intent. Does the same apply to service businesses on the GMB and normal SERP?

Yes, it does apply. I can tell it based on my competitors. I have noticed that the strategy has changed, and more and more businesses are getting extra GMB listings associated with their company. They are getting away with it because Google thinks the new listing is a secondary "branch."

Now, the one with the most listings wins the most clients. Proximity is key.

Do you think this is only associated with GMB’s or also SERP results?
That’s nice to hear, it seems my theory that individualized city pages would beat state wide pages is coming true.

I have not tested it. But I think we are heading in that direction for Local.
What I know for sure is that multiple locations now win the buck, simply because you have an additional radius on maps to work with.
