I recently started a niche blog, and my initial strategy is to push informational articles (answering niche questions, writing guides, top xx etc. ) and then add ecommerce store to the site. I will be selling mainly clothing + gadgets within the niche for enthusiast. After doing research on cold traffic conversion rates I am more lost than ever, some say that 3% is good for search traffic, others that it will be closer to 0,5% etc. I know that there is a lot of variables such as product prices, niche itself, site design, country, optimization and list goes on, but is there any number or range that I can use for predictions ? I work as an analyst, so I am a bit obsessed with these things.
My prices will be average for clothing, with above average site/merch design and none of my competitors is selling anything similar. I don't know what to add more, but doing math on like 2-3% sales conversion (Cold search traffic visitors -> Customers) seems way too much, and not really realistic.
Does anyone have an idea on what to expect ? ... I know it's broad question.
