I think index is very important.

But some experts say that it's not a big problem even if it's not an index.

It's effective enough as a crawled backlink.

I want to hear your experiences.

Why is the index so important ?

Do you mean noindex backlinks or the backlinking sites that are not indexed in SERPs?

It is hard to say.
I have several backlinks from sites with noindex tag and these backlinks are shown in GSC.

I think you're asking about indexed backlinks. They're important in my view because I won't boost links (with GSA/Rankerx) if they're not indexed.

I'm talking about the difference between the indexed backlink and crawled backlinks.

The difference between nofollow and ********, so I'm curious, too

I wonder if it's true that nofollow doesn't provide link juice.

This is a very good question, wish you were clear from the beginning.
It's interesting because: let's say google crawls a page where I have a link and then a few years later it de-indexes that page... so what is going to happen to my link? will it disappear in the eyes of google or google will remember it?

I'm curious to see what others think.

Didn’t google create the no follow tag specifically for the purpose of reducing spam links by cutting off the link juice?

You must be able to find your site so that google can index it. your website is crawled by bots that collect information that helps them understand what your site is about
