My client was on their $200/mo plan and here are the issues with them/ issues I faced:
1) Custom server- they don't run apache, nginx, or litespeed they have a custom made server which does not accept .htaccess files so any wordpress plugin that uses .htaccess won't work with them, that includes all firewall plugins, caching plugins and cdn plugins, redirection plugins and a lot other. Also, they place a fake .htaccess file so that these plugins dont crash the website since .htaccess doesn't work
2) Caching plugin - As I mentioned above no caching plugins work with them however they have their own custom caching system which in summary is TRASH. Does not work, total shit, no image optimisation almost nothing . I tried 10s of caching plugins but none of them worked due to the .htaccess issue, (wp-optimise worked a little bit though 30% of features)
3) Speed is crap- They claim to have fastly cdn integration, idk if fastly itself is crap or their integration of fastly is crap but the cdn has 0 effect , its super slow and on top of that you can't use a custom cdn with them .
4) No image optimisation- as I said above, caching plugins dont work and a lot of them do image optimisation as well so it doesnt work, also tried many other image optimisation plugins but none of them were able to automatically replace heavy images with webp and optimised versions.
My website load time with them was 15 seconds, then I moved it to a $48/mo Digitalocean server and without any optimisation just cause the server was changed to DO the website loaded in less than 7 seconds, and since all plugins worked with DO i was able to optimise ti to ~1.9 seconds.
So would not recommend Wpflywheel to anyone, you pay a lot for terrible speed and literally breaking half of the wordpress plugins.
