I don't know if everyone is researching a lot of services before picking a few potential suppliers. What I usually do is search the proper subforum for a few keywords that describe what I need.
I know that sorting them by last message time can make my life a bit easier, but still. I think it would be a good idea to just remove them from the results, as I assume there's a reason for them not being deleted or hidden entirely.

Maybe it's a good idea. 1 year not active BST should be hidden/deleted/trashed :)

That would be a nice idea too, but I spoke specifically about locked sales threds.

It may be better to introduce a filter to hide them while searching instead of excluding them completely.

but they are also waste of time for seller, after 1y+ I am still getting emails if it's working or not, it's some temptation for sellers but telling it's not working, even working partialy
Also banned members still can sell on BHW if buyer will contact them directly via email

Yeah, I almost fell for that a few months ago. Luckily I try to start any deal with PMs and move to Skype only after I paid.

Very good idea. Totally on board. We shouldn’t exclude inactive BSTs though. Just the closed ones.

'The plan is to keep the content but remove the nonactive sellers off-site link using that page to deliver visits to active marketplace threads along the lines of - "Unfortunately this member is no longer active on the forum here are some services that are delivered by active members".'

That will work.

This will help people who want to exclude them. Best of both worlds.

Yes I support this. It can also help reduce scam in the forum.

I'll bring up the possibility of adding a "hide closed threads" filter to the search function. I'll update this thread once I have an answer.

Update: Sorry, it's not something we're looking into implementing at this time.
