Do you update your Themes/Plugins right away?

Do you guys update your Themes/Plugins right away when release
Or do you do some testing on staging sites
or do you just leave it outdated

I just take backup before running updates.
I do it manually & 1 by 1.

Updates are done to fix problems and improve functionality.

Used to do that but then once Woocommerce update did something & nothing was accessible.
Tried everything I found on Google to troubleshoot the issue but no help.
Then I asked my host to restore latest backup.

Since then I just do it manually.

I'll get into trouble automatically and you'll get into trouble manually.
All my sites are set to do daily backups just in case.

Can't point any difference it's just I have had similar issues multiple times with auto updates.
And with manually updating 1 by 1 haven't faced any issue.
Could be just I am lucky but since no issues so I prefer it that way.
But auto updates are always on on my autoblogs because they are too many.

One more thing I don't use many plugins & themes. It's generally 2 themes the main theme & child theme & few plugins.

I put auto-update on my blogs, but I manually update my e-commerce website.

This is because sometimes the theme needs updated for compatibility with woocommerce.

All my plugins have to be manually updated (so no auto),
but whenever I see it
I update it right away without a backup.

There's not a more potent aphrodisiac than running an update not knowing
if your entire website will break.

Backups? Ruins the thrill.

I don't update themes/plugins right away when released.
I will wait for few days and then update them,

Few years back i updated one plugin as soon as it got released and my website got completely broken. Website was earning good amount before that update. I din't have much technical expertise that time and don't have backup so couldn't fix. I even hired few so called experts from Freelance websites but din't help.

Lesson learnt.
