Doing some research the options seem really scarce.

Deadulus seem the only option for software wallet but I don't want to deal with a full node.

The other shits are browser based which seems shitty in my mind somehow? vs having software on your machine. I suppose being in a browser is still better than a full node but isn't ideal.

Why not use Metamask? As it seems, Cardano is a BEP20 token. You just need to add Binance Smartchain to your Metamask for receiving ADA. Metamask IS browser based (atleast for desktop.. there are apps for ios and android too), but it is used by almost everyone dealing with ETH and BSC network tokens.

This is like a foreign language to me brother. I only know little about crypto. Only used btc/ltc to buy some odd items online. Can you unpack all these jargons for me? Looking to know more but there is so much buzzwords I usually end up dizzy :D.

Btw you mentioned binance, which I know is an exchange. I have no intention of joining any exchange. To me that is against the crypto philosophy of decentralization.

lol it is easy to understand.

First download and install metamask
Code:
https://metamask.io/download

Then add Binance Smartchain
Code:
https://academy.binance.com/en/articles/connecting-metamask-to-binance-smart-chain

and that is it!! You are ready to receive ADA.

As for finding out which network a token belongs to (or if it is a coin having it's own blockchain), see the official coinmarketcap listing:
Code:
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/cardano/

and look at the smart contract section

By the way, these are basic knowledge. I recommend reading these before you take tokens out of a non custodial exchange account (for example, binance or wazirx).

Maybe he wants to use the "real" Cardano on its own network?
There is a BEP-20 version but it's like WBTC (BTC on the ETH network).

Hmm so it has its own network? I am not sure like I said in my last post. So yeah, that could be an option too if they indeed have a wallet. But BSC should work perfectly fine, as well (fees are pretty low for BSC too).

Yes, Cardano has its own network and blockchain like ETH and AVAX, and then they created a token version on BSC.
If OP just wants to hold it or only cares about the price, the BSC version is fine and can be used on Metamask.
If he wants to run a node or something, I guess he needs the "real" version.

Like usual casual discussion brings up several new layers of confusion!!! Is there any end to the concepts and technology thrown around :p

So now there are 'virtual' cardanos (tokens?) on ethereum network which act like 'real' cardanos?

I think I would prefer the real mccoy? Keep it simple. My goal is just to buy and hodl. Actually also I am thinking ethically, since cardano is greener, being proof of stake, I want to buy cardano and not POW impersonation of POS coin; that would defeat the purpose of supporting green projects :D. That would be like buying a diesel car with tesla bodywork.

As for nodes, I assume he meant validator nodes (read about PoS and PoW). For that, you will need to "invest" a minimum amount of coins depending on the network. :D

I know what POW and POS are because the whole point I wanna buy cardano is it is POS which is more eco friendly than dirty POW.

Yepp and there are ways to send the crypto from one to another. For example, you could send the ADA back to binance and then send it back to native ADA network (I assume... see the Withdraw section in your binance app).

For investment, I think you don't need to think much. Just choose one between BSC or Cardano's native network and relax.
