I have been purchasing iPhones 6 & 7 with Holly starks basic method and today will be my first time running experiments. Clicking driving directions with mobile hotspots and driving to each location is supposed to be the top ranking factor.
I also am curious if I change out SIM cards will google think each SIM card is a different person clicking on driving directions?
I will also be making google reviews & trusted yelp accounts. CTR manipulation for mine and other local website businesses. I will share results here. Does anyone here have an experiment they want answers to or have suggestions to super charge a possible ranking factor? Let the games begin!

Android phones know when there’s 30 phones in your car driving to a business. iPhones are stupid. It’s for local seo ctr manipulation and ranking any gmb quickly in google

1 hot spot can have up to 15 iPhones. I’ll probably add 1 android per hot spot and no you can not manipulate driving directions from gmb and actually driving. Google knows where each phone is and tracks your driving.

Driving directions is top gmb ranking factor there’s no such thing as a gmb seo it’s all user signals. Plus my reviews will be permanent because real phones. I’m also going to experiment with different SIM cards in each phone although I think google will catch this but we shall see.

edit. KW in business name and primary category are ranking signals obviously but the algorithm is based primarily on user interaction with gmb.

I just came across this Holly Starks video now after seeing your thread. Do you plan on turning the GPS driving directions on all of these phones simultaneously and driving to the location?

Google won't question why there are 100 cars driving there at the same time?

The plan is to use 12 or less at a time experiment with the magic number on different businesses.
My Company, I will use 3 at a time 4x a day from different areas. Other companies I’ll try 15 or more in one go and see. Holly says magic number is 12. Expensive test but, I can make a ton of money ranking gmb locally as I attend chamber of commerce and FB meet up groups.

Looking forward to your results. I might have to invest in a few dozen phones myself if this works.

I just got my first 15 iPhones in and bought Verizon’s best hotspot device. I also have 6 androids more phones on the way. Tomorrow trials begin. I am also going to test time of day. I have a hunch rankings changed during most visited time of day. I want people to call me after hours which is also the least competitive time of day to rank. I’ll report back if anyone has anything else they want tested, I love testing theories.

ctr local serp will be tested plus yelp and google reviews that stick. Real phones reviews last forever.

Very exciting.
Do you have a sim card for each phone or just using the wifi hotspots? and do you need a proxy or anything or just the hotspot alone?

Just the hot spot. SIM cards are for making phone calls. I only need the internet. I’m slowly building up traffic. During the slowest hours I drove 10 phones to my house with gmb directions to drive. I’m curious if I rank differently at night during off hours than during the day time when my competition gets peak gmb signals. Each iPhone takes 30 minutes to set up- that’s tedious! Than 1 by 1 clicking directions to drive. I’m using 5 androids but only 1 at a time. Each phone has a sticker with note pad containing all details with corresponding phone number. Never lose iPhone passwords.
my thoughts are each device has a unique number that google tracks. After driving twice with a phone to my company- I’ll do a google review. When I’m not busy, I will work on trusted yelp reviewer accounts. Yelp is a huge ranking factor for non google searches. Than I want to do CTR manipulation varied among a few kW I want to rank for. This I can track traffic and rankings on analytics and gsc.
With how much I pay for some PBN domains I’m surprised nobody else is doing this?
gmb is far more important than local serp rankings, for service area businesses. I violate google guidelines and display my address but my gmb is established so it cannot get suspended easily.

I’m actually surprised even though I’m mostly using IPhones. Androids have made a huge ranking increase to top spot in my gmb for competitive KW “pest control” 5 miles out but iPhones I’m between spot 3-5 in gmb from that distance.
I am surprised that google ranks iOS seperate from android. It’s also interesting that androids are ranking faster with far fewer devices being used.
More experiments to come just sharing early results.
CTR in organic search has seen increases already for “pest control + my city”.

I wonder if his pest control gmb got so many leads that he forgot to update us :D

Can anyone explain the method?
How in this world having phones is a ranking factor for GMB?

I am not an expert but I think he is trying to fool Google into thinking that his website gets more views "organically". He can also manipulate stats such as dwell time for example. Which suppose to grow his GMB ranking eventually.

Theoretically, if a user clicks NO8 instead of NO1 GMB ranking and his dwell time is crushing NO1's dwell time, Google will reevaluate the rankings because in Google's eyes NO8 is a more valuable website based on the data it has gathered. The thing is, how easy it is to fool Google's algo and how many phones it takes? (joke)

For anyone wanting to learn about CTR manipulation you can look this method up on YouTube. Holly is the one who bought 100 phones or something like that and used them all to click on her GMB and drive to it with directions turned on.
