Seriously is out of control.

Strange that in an IM, SEO forum 6 out of 10 posts in the feed are non-related stuff.

Don't you have work to do?

How can you spend so much time talking about non-sense instead of working your ass 24/7 (not literally)

Is there a way to ignore all the threads in the lounge section? When I open BHW I want to learn stuff, see IM-related news, not a guy bragging about living another day after his heart attack.

Seems more like you’re against a handful of member’s posts rather than the section itself. My advise would be to put them on ignore and yes, it does work. Your feed will be a lot less cluttered after.

not a guy bragging about living another day after his heart attack.
Coming to this, I tend to dislike his posts as well since he incites a lot of controversy but I’d like to think that a heart attack is a major part of one’s life. It’s almost the same as coming back from the dead. I see nothing wrong in users sharing parts of their lives on here. That’s what makes this a community and that’s what has helped this forum survive.

A heart attack is a serious issue.

Definitely more important than anything else!

I work my ass 20 hours a day (don't judge, bills need to be paid) and spend 4 hours a day sitting on a donut pillow enjoying the Blackhat lounge.
Wait, when do you sleep?

On topic: absolutely agreed that we need a way to completely ignore a sub forum.

Before all this crap started, when I refresh the page I see at least 5 threads where I can help someone, share some smart things, today, I literally have to do some searching for such, IM related threads.

Activity is declining and that is obvious, or at least I can say it on my own behalf.

What I can't and don't want to understand are people who know that they are only provoking other people to hate them, they are doing it on purpose.

I'm trying not to react to other things that have nothing to do with IM, but unfortunately, all this is slowly leaving a mark on the whole community,
people are tired of that BS!

Yes, this would be needed and if i can remember well, it was possible on the previous platform. If implemented, the BST section could be hidden too, which i think is not the intention of the forum and probably that's why, this feature is missing. An inbetween solution could work, where we don't get the option to hide the BST section, but everything else. If this is possible at all.

I use the Ignore option to mute some BHW users who are extra but, that doesn't cut it.

Can't bear seeing Lounge/Marketplace etc threads that I don't need in my life.

We should be able to customize it (without having to pay/become a VIP/whatever).

For free?

Although I am new, I have been doing lots of research here and want to set up some decent BSTs (which won't be easy now that I have two infractions :() but I am learning loads. It would be nice to keep upto date with latest new in marketing and tech things or some light-hearted discussion, when you've got a ten minutes during a lunch break or after a hard days work, ideally on relevant topics, or as op says to learn things or be inspired without needing to spend those ten minutes weeding out those threads among off-topic discussions, covid, weekend and post heart attack journeys etc for anyone interested.

In another place (not IM related) they divided a general discussion forum into two parts - one for relevant, mature and constructive things, the other for all the immature drivel, the latter of which the admin found too embarassing to represent the forum to the extent it was not even viewable to non-registered members. Not sure if something like that's deemed viable, even if not hiding the posts completely, but maybe considerable?

As someone else said for time being just collapse a section that doesn't interest you and ignoring any members you deem trouble makers, makes their posts basically dissappear in to thin air.
