Lol godaddy steals domains - be careful

I kinda was noticing it for a while now but im 100% sure its true
you type a domain in godaddy and in some cases their bots register it right away... so its available for a few sec then suddenly its "unavailable" and they try to sell it to you as a "premium domain " for thousands of dollars lol
fuck them , I wonder if there are other alternatives with better business ethics to use instead of shittydaddy

We should form a community and search for a few selected domains at once. This should trigger their system and they'll realize it only after registering tens of domains.

Yes, I have heard that GoDaddy has a reputation for domain name front-running so I don't buy from them.

I don't sell my old domains there either, their ownership checks are not very good. I once noticed someone else trying to auction off one of my domains there. I was able to report the listing and have it get taken down, but the person should have never been able to list it in the first place when they were not the owner. This has definitely destroyed my confidence in GoDaddy auctions.

anybody can list your domain for sale on dan.com, sav.com, and on namesilo too! and many other marketplaces without owing the domain.

Surprised godaddy brand could do this. I always use namecheap and I never had any issues like that.

Yes they did it before a year. in few minutes they marked as Premium.
First they allow us to add in cart and then some errors popup and if we search the domain again it marked as Premium.

They have been doing this for years, That's the reason I switched to NameCheap.

Was the domain registered globally (e.g. ICANN) or was it reported as registered by godaddy? Did you check the domain elsewhere?

Reason I'm asking is bc some registrars will report the domain registered or premium when they detect a keyword in it, but it wasn't really registered yet.

I think some registrars have their system connected to some keyword price database where they check the domain value in real time.

Happened to me on Namecheap as well.

And one time they really pulled off a shitshow: They locked me from my account (!) and prevented me from renewing a domain. Spent hours in the live chat, sent countless support tickets. Weirdest part: I provided them with all my really information and they said its wrong. Provided them with the email, username, payment receipt, transaction ID, all kinda stuff. Later on when the domain was lost (got registered by a russian guy) and I got my account back, I checked all the information of my account and I was totally right when I provided them with all the infos. But these guys were just saying "Oh, wrong street", "Wrong email address", etc.

Also funny that after the domain was lost it seems like they didn't have any problem anymore to unlock my account. So obvious and ridiculous.

I mean, come on. If you are working for GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc., you are basically sitting at the source and you have the power to "snipe" some domains, you would definitely do it as well.
