Offcourse site speed is a factor to consider if that is what you mean and yes a lot of the members use cloud hosting services from companies like DigitalOcean etc.

Yes, and it's actually a huge factor. After I optimised my old blog (1+ year) it started to gaintraffic before optimisation the traffic was terrible. One more example, I built a e-commerce shop for a client, very optimised loads in less than 2 seconds. He gets indexed and starts receiving orders from traffic coming from google and that is without even doing any SEO or even adding the site in GSC.
He had to change domain multiple times due to so fb issue and each time the domain got indexed asap, and started receiving hits.
So yea I think speed is a big factor.

Not really.
Btw there is difference between homemade CDN and premium CDN.
As matter of fact .. CloudFlare although the #1 DNS provider is NOT CDN as per the CDN definition ( free plan).
BunnyCDN (which we like) , KeyCDN etc are 100% CDNs with high performance.
